help, need new alternator

What is a good alternator brand to look into, and what are the bad thing that could happen if I upgrade my alternator?

i've used them too. you will have poor output at idle but if you never crank your system while not moving you should be fine.

Nate can take care of that with a smaller pulley.

And its never poor output, its the same if not more than your stock alt.

the only thing bad about getting a high out-put alt is if you need a smaller belt for it and no one makes them( i had this happen)

stock output is poor ime, and in most cases a smaller pully means a new belt. and a smaller pully shortens the life of the alternator.

i was just letting him know some of the downsides. it wasnt worth the extra money to me to get a custom case alt that has good output across the board. it may be to him

if your not happy with output at idle. get 2 so you can double your idle output lol.
