Where To Put Batteries?

i have a 2000 explorer. my box takes up the entire cargo area. i need to put 2 batteries somewhere in the car..any suggestions. theyre too tall to put under the back seats and too wide to put next to the box. im out of ideas here.....?

he has 4 mj-18's.. sorry i guess this could have gone elsewhere.. this is the only place i really look at so i didnt even think about that

If you can't fit them under the hood, or in the cargo area, then under the vehicle, in a compartment welded to the vehicle. If that is a no, then nowhere.

Because it will change the enclosure volume, and therefore the tuning frequency??

Good location. Better weld a mounting system up, even if the enclosure is covering it.

i have found that though round pieces of wood they have at lowes work great. just drill a hole in the center and bolt it to where the spare tire bolts up then mount what ever you need to the wood, cover it up with the factory trim pieces.

my spare tire is under the car..and the jack is mounted in a side panel. and my box isnt ported so theres no tuning frequency to change. also the net volume is about 2.8 cu ft bigger than it needs to be so i have room...

Three aren't going to be all that much better... you need an alternator son.

And if you are competing, with car off, you need to see what your class allows. But, since you are sealed, I assume that isn't the case.

The battery you have sitting in the bottom of that pic shouldn't be used anywhere inside the vehicle for two reasons. The first being that it isn't a sealed battery which is a HUGE no-no. If you can't fit it under your hood you need to buy different batteries. The second is the projectile factor. Sure there are very few forms of natural selection left but putting that inside the cab with you would be considered one of them. 80lb projectiles can really cause some damage then add that it is a projectile filled with acid and you are really playing with your life.
