Up to 158.7 as of yesterday by adding MaxxSonics MaxxLink to match the amps and provide a better signal.

Gained another 0.1 dB today thanks to a ~ 6" long piece of aluminum tape :) 158.8 dB consistently.

It could do 149.9 bassrace for sure :) I can maintain 150 - 152 or so on music no problem.

I re-installed the CD changer today... did about 3-4 minutes of testing to make sure it didn't skip in the mounting location I picked. Well... my neighbor called the police *laughs* Lets just say I have less than nice things to say about this lady to begin with... By the time he got here I was eating lunch sitting on the couch watching TV and it was dead silent... so, needless to say, he just said what he had to "Well, I guess keep it down. Have a nice day." Then he went about his business and drove off.

To put it in perspective... I usually don't test for more than 5 minutes, doors of the vehicle always closed with windows up, and it is always in mid afternoon so I'm not bothering people @ dinner or trying to sleep -- unless they sleep until 1 PM that day of course.

Said neighbor has three kids that are members of "rock bands" with their friends... so we'll see about noise complaints. Oh, and the county ordinance on excessive dust when they drive 40 mph down the gravel road. Yah, this should be fun :) I could go on... but I don't think I'll have this problem again.

Man, Jake's truck is stupid-loud. That sucker takes your breath away when it's near that magic frequency. I believe Jake was playing Jeezy (probably not spelled correctly as I don't know popular music) when I looked at him and said "holy shit...that is nuts!"

What you need to do is cut a broom stick to a length in which it will vibrate at your tunning freq. Wrap it up have it delivered via ups send a note with it and tell her to stick it up her a$$ at say 1:00 pm.Around that time , open the doors on your truck and let her rip. After that she won't call the law on you any more .You will be able to charge her for your services. Now your enviro. friendly with no noise pollution ,you are recycling your db's.You come out smelling peachy such a good public service. Keep it green with Sundown Audio :twirl:

What the truck needs now is 10" midbass, 6" PA midrange drivers, and big ol' PA horn drivers under the dash!

10 midbass, is there such a thing =]. how bout 2x 8's per door =]

The way the seat is I don't think I can do it... but I think I can set one 10" driver forward towards the dash and get it in there. This is pending measurement :) I would like to use this for midbass if I can fit it:

http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=290-395

It has similar T/S to the old Adire Koda 6... which was a killer car midbass, don't let the way it models out fool you -- it would rock your ear drums for midbass in a car.

I'm also looking for something to get close to efficiency matching the PA 6" midrange and horn tweeters :)

If you're going for something that will be loud and sound good, get some B&C 6.5s and some Selenium tweeters. I know someone with this exact setup and they sound amazing.

Anyways, the truck looks flat out rediculous. I gotta hear it someday.

Chuck,

That was the midrange I was looking into.

I had not looked into that tweeter... as long as it is loud as hell, which the specs indicate it will be, that'll work fine. Since you have heard alot of PA gear in-car... what are your thoughts on that Selenium unit vs. full blown compression drivers with a horn mouth?

I don't want to run against you either *laughs* Your van is loud!

I still have work to do before I can start driving it to shows, but it'll be out there as soon as I can get it going!

UPDATES....UPDATES...

I have always loved this truck.

I don't think he's changed anything yet, although with all the demo time, the burp scores are starting to fade. I feel sorry for those MTs, Jacob puts a serious hurting on them when it comes to demos, he doesn't hold anything back.

Changes are coming soon :)

I think I know why the score was down, and I don't think it is the MTs going dead just yet!
