Sundown SPL Truck

Recommended Posts

Well, my TL finally came back so put the truck on the meter... my head hurts even with ear plugs AND hearing protective head phones on.

First go @ the TL after finding the peak of 48 hz:

Legal mic position too:

Take a look at my collection of Powermaster D3100s, seven at this time:

Used to power four SAZ-3000Ds:

Dual Powermaster alternators for the win:

While taking that last pic I realized that I forgot to tighten the ground on the top alternator... so I did so and run the truck again:

Not too bad! Now... it's time to get tweaking :)

It's really not too bad on music... I need to work on the fronts though... they sound like crap at the moment :) I'll be taking them fully active shortly, once I can get a crew together to get the cap off so I can change the multi-channel amp setup around and ditch the passives.

It does have a mean peak @ 48 Hz... but it still did 152.8 @ 35 Hz :)

i'm diggin the swingin amp rack as well.

Most of the credit so far for the truck goes to Justin Thornton, as I got it from him :)

I've been working on it daily since I got it but the infrastructure of the truck is his work. I will be making changes, tweaking, tuning, upgrading things, etc, etc. I've got a few other woofers I'd like to try in the box, as well as some box tweaks. The truck suited exactly what I wanted to do in the first place so when Justin put it up for sale I jumped on it!

True... I probably should get some videos of this thing. The doors like to breathe on low music :)

I will be adding a few more Powermaster D3100s as well... those things are beasts! I highly suggest them to anyone running lots of power, eg: SAZ-3000Ds :)
