Boxes : 12" Havoc

Recommended Posts

Im looking into getting a 12" havoc if my dd 3515 doesnt start shaping up or fitting in my car.

Now whats ported enclosure size for a 12" havoc. Min and Max and Recommended and The size that makes it shine. I would like to know opinions on all 4 sizes. And tuned to what hz and what size port.

A little more info:

* trunk size box

* powered by SD 1500D

Thanks for your time I really appreciate it.

Without even modelling things up, you can make pretty good guesses based on what most 12" drivers work best in. Expect .8-1.5 sealed and 1.8-2.5 ported, tuned 28-33 Hz. Something along those lines. As far as port size goes, go with 12-16 square inches per cubic foot, so if you do 2.5 cubes ported tuned to 30 Hz (a very good starting point), you should have at least 30 square inches of port area. I don't have the time to calculate port length from there, but it's pretty easy to do so.

I figured I was just checking.

By port area that means like space inside the box that is considered to be the port right? Or just the opening?

Volume = WxLxH

Area = WxH

So, it is the opening.

I know trhe math im just asking for clarification on whats considered the port. just the opening or the entire area inside the box thats part of the port....
