I run mine off of a 50x2 amp (piece of crap Sony) & I have the gain temp set at 1/4 & attenuated @ the deck by -8dB.

Not sure why you need two of them?

8 up front and 8 in the back(cargo)

im not gonna argue what im doing. i was simply asking about the amps.

lol, stand your ground

as far as the amps, I love those things, I've been eye balling them every time I go to my distributor. They have stacks of them. Once their gone though, their gone! Can't think of any use I would have for them. I saw a few birth sheets on the punch 150 around 800-900w RMS! For a $200 dollar amp, can't beat it.

as much as i dont want to admit it...yes they do rated power and yes they are cheap as hell.

mine does 300 @ 4 ohms

it was my dirty little secret in hopes that i would have enough cash to buy another one down the road, but alas the secret it out.

:woot: got 2 Punch45's and 2 Punch150s on the way!!!!

you think theses amps could be run @ 1.6 ohm per channel (rated to go to 2 ohm only...) for mids and highs?

also, how is the current draw on these?

Your 1.6 comment will really depend on the speakers. If the specs are off a bit I would say no, unless they are off in the other direction. If you actually measured the 1.6 I would say you are okay, but I know you didn't and I am not referring to DCR either.

the speakers are 8 ohm, and im referring to using 5 per channel. 5x 8ohm speakers in parallel = 1.6 right?

if not, ill use 4, and get a 2 ohm load.
