pricing

Recommended Posts

Definately not talking bad but I know RE started out at very nice prices then jacked them to just retarded high pricing.... Now please don't take any disrespect scott. But are the FI's temp pricing or should they try to keep within relation to inflation of cost? AGAIN and AGAIN this is no disrespect to scott. just doing a wall in the next year and have to decide which subs . please don't take this as an insult. just to the point

there was a thread about this a while ago. im sure you want a direct answer from scott but ill give my info anyways.

in that thread scott was asked about his pricing and if he was planning to go mainstream like RE did. he said pricing is stable and he has no plans of going mainstream.

Fi is a direct only company. I will not have dealer/distributor accounts here. It would simply be impossible for a dealer to stock all the varieties of options/subs that we have. We like the direct approach with Fi. It keeps us closer to the customers and allows us to meet their needs better.

As for pricing... these are far from "introductory" prices. I am not one for presales, introductory prices, or other things. I price things to what I feel is fair for the customer and for Fi as a company. Im not sure if you saw us start, but we kind of popped out of no where. We didnt spend months spamming the net. When product was ready to be built, we let people know we were there... of course that lead to a slow start, but Id rather be stocked and ready to roll, than take money and have nothing to ship.

Coming up in Sept Fi has been open for a year... in that time we have seen an averaged 10% increase in parts cost, an bigger increase in shipping costs (which we include in the price as well), and other such unavoidable expenditure increases, but none of which have made it to the consumers prices. We try our hardest to keep things stable and absorb the increases as best we can. This is not to say that we wont ever increase prices... obviously if things go up continually, we will have to do something. But it will be relative to inflation, not random.

Hopefully this sounds reasonable and makes sense... if not, well... I tried ;)

Thanks,

Scott

Very nice response. I appreciate the politeness cause I didn't want to be rude. May i ask what happened with RE and why then went so high on price if you don't mind me asking

Didnt find the question the least bit rude at all. The audio industry is rather volitile right now and it is a valid question.

As for RE, I sold my half of the company to my business partner back in Jan 2006. After that he sold the whole thing to US Amps. Pricing seemed to be readjusted from that point on... they apparelty felt that it was needed given their marketing strategy.
