Those that used the rest then went to Zed give me your input

Recommended Posts

I was all set to buy a couple of Zeds and then had a change of plans...well ....after lots of money and not even using half of the amps I did buy, I am on the verge of getting the Zeds after all.....if I do it will be a Zed Duece and a monolith or Gladius...

I currently have a ARC 4150xxk & ARC 1500xxk and quite frankly like them but I am still haunted by not getting the Duece...

I must first sell a Son of Frankampenstien which is a limited edition 4 channel PG amp and a rare amp(500 made) . I am getting this one a trade as nobody had cash for my new PG ZPA 0.5 monster 2 channel..

I am wanting to know what you had before you got the ZEd amps and what your impression is....also need to know if you got BB upgrade....

to Denim...forgive me for not buying 1st time...I told you I would be back.......

Great amps, but I think most people haven't just swapped their amps. I know when I go to change my system around it all tends to get ripped out and there are a lot of those types on the board. I may know someone interested in your Arc's if you do sell them. Let me know and I can check.

ARCs are sold...well 1 is sold ....other is waiting on money transfer to me...

thats why I have the urge to get them now...at least 1 duece....

I got some other stuff working so I am trying to wait too clear that up....I have a PG Son Of Frank I want to test 1st and I also have a couple of "cheap" amps....

I guess its hard to cough up $458 for an amp even as good as the Duece

I am "old school" circa 1980's. In the late 80's and early 90's I changed amplifiers like I changed my oil but in 1994 I purchased a couple of soundstream amplifiers; Reference 500 and a Class A 6.0. I used these up until this spring and decided it was time to try something new. I was in the process of building a new system anyway so I thought what the heck. I think I got my moneys worth with those Soundstreams. I put the Soundstrems on EBAY and started my search for some new amplifiers. I subscribe to CAE Magazine and the review on the ZED ZUDIO Gladius cought my eye. I was aware of some the the amps that ZED built for other companies and especially like the Lanzar Opti Drive. So I started doing my research and could not find one negative thing about the company or Stephen Mantz. So after some Emails and one converstion with the man himself I ordered 2 Gladius with the BB upgrade and a Deuce. The Gladius amps will run a Polk SR5250 set and SR 6" midbass. The Duece will Run two SR214DVC 12" subwoofers. I could have purchased KIcker and MTX at up to 80% off or Eclipse at 50% off and 60% off JL audio but I felt the ZED were a better deal. Unfortunately for me I have had to have two back surgerys this summer and can not build my system but that did not stop me from playing. I have some premium series MB Quart 6.5 inch speaker in small enclosures I built for test purposes. I wired up one of the Gladius to these speakers using a older Alpine HU as the source and I have to tell you I was throughly impressed. I can;t wait to get my system built. It may be my last but I keep my equipment along time. The sound was simply amazing and I can't remember those MB Quarts ever sounding so good. I probably listened to it for about 2 hours listening to all types of music and the sound was wonderful on everything I played. I know I made the right decision and I would recommend these amps to anyone.

I just replaced my 2 Zed Gladius with Alpine PDX 4.150 on Saturday, I can definitely tell you these Gladius sound better. The high is more detail, over tonality is better, more warm sound. I have to put them up for sale, they are just to big to fit under the seats and leave comfortable leg room. Although I do have Burr Brown opamp upgrade, so that wouldn't be fair compare it to a regular amp. They never got hot either.
