How to tell which model mag you have

I thinkin about buyin a mag off of someone but dont know how to tell which one it is? Does it even matter which 1 it is? Does 1 have better power handling then the other or would you say they pretty much have the same?

Generic logo (company name only) on a boob dust cap.

I am not to sure on differences between older gens but do know they used a logo saying magnum and dust cap was inverted. I know first gen 12s used a claw basket which is teh sexay. Here is an example of an older gen.
