XT4000D and 2 RE SE 10's

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, new to the forum... just looking for some input from people that are familiar with US Amps and RE Audio. I just dropped some cash for my new system, and was curious about your opinions on my choices. I haven't installed anything yet except the deck as the amps and cap won't be here until next week:

2001 GMC Sierra Stepside - (STANDARD CAB!)

Head Unit: Pioneer BT9800 (Bluetooth rocks on this deck!)

Subs: 2 RE Audio SE 10 inch (new logo) - will be wired to 1 ohm

Enclosure: Custom Built Sealed @ .65 cu ft each (optimum according to RE) - 3\4" MDF (Air tight, trust me!)

Sub Amp: US AMPS XT-4000d (2007)

Front Doors: Infinity Reference 6.5" Co-axial (Existing, currently running off deck, and plan on upgrading soon)

Rear Pillars: Infinity Kappa 4x6 Plate (Existing, currently running off deck, and plan on upgrading soon)

Amplifier: US Amps 1600.4 (will be used "CONSERVATIVELY" with the above)

Capacitor: 6 Farad Kole Audio

Wiring, Fusing, Distribution Blocks, RCA Interconnects, Sound Dampening: Stinger Audio

Battery: Upgrading to Optima upon install.

Keep in mind, I am more interested in SQ vs. SPL, especially in such a small cab, but I could only afford the XT line. I plan on keeping all my gains low- I want Loud but Clean.

I do have a couple of questions though:

1. I am planning on running 4 ga high strand power to the cap and I am now wondering if I should have run 0/1.

2. Will I be ok with the stock alternator 100Amp, considering the Optima Battery, 6 Farad Cap, and doing the "big 3" especially since I am going for SQ?

3. Can someone please tell me the fuse ratings and input power gauge for these 2 amps.

system sounds sweet! the 2007 xt class D's have bumped thier power output a little. this is what i would do if i were in your situation....

*run the 0 guage and distro it off. with 4 gauge you would be choking your amps that way if you wanted to upgrade, it would give you room to do so.

*ditch the cap...but if you must, its all good.

*upgrade the coaxes (i see that you already are)

with the big 3 and optima, you shouldnt have any electrical problems.

Wow... your up late!!! Thanks ...I think I'll take your advice on the 0 gauge run. Do you know what the input power wire gauge is for the 4000d and the 1600.4 and the fuse ratings for each?

Also, I already ordered the 6 farad cap ;( -but I got it for $54.00 so I'll probably go ahead and throw it in. Wouldn't hurt, would it? I just hope it's not overkill for that little cab.
