Where should port face?

Recommended Posts

I will be building a box for 2 18" BTLs in a Tahoe. The subs will point up of course, but what about the port. Should I port up or back? I am not to sure as this is my first build for an SUV. I have heard back before, but have seen some greats like Meade do both and am unsure myself. Lastly, do you think this setup will hit real hard. Lookin for some pretty high numbers, as is everyone probably is though.

Port back and as low to the floor as possible. :horse:

I’m saying in Bass Race on music... High 140s. Depends on the box and amount of wattage

I will probably throw about 3k watts to each. If money permits and i get this job i am goin for at the hospital, then I will try and attempt a Meade performance and throw 4 18's in it, but that all depends on if i get this job or not.

That would be pretty cool. I would like to see how it comes out either way. Hope you get your job so you can go all out, lol.

Thanks truck. Yeah, I hope it all does work out. If it does, I will have to build a little enclosure for like 2 of the 18's in order to learn more about fiberglass. I should do that for my girls explorer. That way i get some good knowledge in on using fiberglass. I would prefer using it in order to airbrush my trademark tribal designs on it. that would be pimp.

Another note, anyone know where I can find some good info on doing fiberglass enclosures......Thanks
