DO you have any size or space restrictions?

Since you want SQ what is the front stage the sub will have to blend to?

Sean. . .

Let's face it man, you are NOT really concerned about sound quality. You want it loud and clear. Simple as that. Sound quality is pretty much non-existent in today's recordings anyways. Sound Quality is term used too loosely, and many people around here are purists, so they will assume when you say "SQ" you mean the most accurate reproduction of the program material. Loudness does not come into play there.

Now, with that particular application, there are tons of ways you can go. Do you have any companies you are already interested in? Any concern about the rest of your system? What is your electrical system like?

Try to lay out all the information you can and we can help you better.

i really like the re audios that i got but i want more. i want it louder and 2 hit harder. i think i got about 1.75 to 2.00 per sub. i was lookin at the kicker Solo X 12,Solo-Baric L7,Kicker Comp VX 12,Memphis Mojo 12. other re audios. db audio and a few others. im open 2 anything that is going 2 hit hard everyday but also sound good. i also need a new amp. i dont know what 6x9 and 4x7 im going 2 go with yet. i got a 2.4 cap brand new batt and gettin a big alt soon. then i need 2 get some new power wire. what r some good brand wires and what should i stay away from?

aside from loudness, are the RE's you're currently running clear enough for you or do you want something that sounds better than what you have?

They're in a bandpass box (presumably prefabbed) running off a sony amp, I'm sure it sounds like chit. Get a better amp and build a proper enclosure for those subs and I'm sure you'll stick with them...

you obviously completely missed the point of my question. Whether you think it sounds like chit or not doesn't matter, what he thinks does. His answer to that question will help in his sub choice. Sounding "good" can be many different things to many different people.

what about DB DRIVE PLATINUM SERIES 12? how r those?

LOL, I'd skip anything with "platinum" in the name.

Honestly though. Before you go out spending money on new subs; build a proper ported box for the RE's.

I've run the RE8's and an RE10 before (seperate setups). The RE10 ported was extremely tight and punchy and had plenty of output for me. I had two RE8's in a sealed box and they also pleased me greatly.

I think your first step towards a better "system" is to build a correct box for the RE's. After that, you need to start thinking about a better amp. For you at the moment you need an amp that does 450-600w @ 1 or 4 ohms. The Sundown SAX-100.2 would be a good match for your subs.

You would need to wire them like this:

Also the RE12 was once acclaimed as one of the top 12" woofers in its price bracket for SQ and performance. Keep those badboys. They'll make you smile, you just need to install them right.

well the 100.2 can always be moved to powering a component set when you decide to get a monoblock amp for the subs. I'd go ported but no idea on specs, someone else should be able to help you there. I'd guess 1-1.5cubes at 30-34hz maybe a bit higher
