Kinetik batteries

So can i run a Kinetik battery in the back of my car wiht no other upgrade? I mean i dont need an isolator or anything like that? Back in the day i had a stinger gell in the front and one in the back and had to run an isolator and was a pain in the ass. any help would be aprreciated, i got a civic with a tiny ass alt and i have a cap but i heard they dont help any and was wondering about running one of these batts in the back, thanks

Isolators are nice in that you can run the system with the car off and drain the secondary battery but still be able to start the car with the underhood one.

But if you're just looking to beef up the stock electrical you should consider upping the gauge of your main wire run and doing the Big 3 before buying the kinetik.

Idid the big 3 but my main question was do i need to run an isolater or smething to one of these batteries in the back of my car? I was under the impression that i just run it off my battery in the front and i will be fine without installing an isolator?

I believe for normal needs, as long as you have the batteries fused from each other you should be ok.

Isolator is mainly for if you use your stereo with the car off a lot OR if you don't drive the vehicle often (since the ESR will be different they can drain each other if the car remains off and stored away for a lengthy time, but if this is the case just disconnect the second battery) but if you use the car daily or on a regular basis and pound the stereo with the car on most of the time there is no need for an isolator... I have an extra battery and no isolator and absolutely no problems (stock batter lead acid from the dealer and a Optima in the rear)

It takes a long time for parasitic draw to have an effect on the batteries. I have a Kinetik 2400 and a large lead-acid battery connected together on my test bench... left for a week it has no noticeable effect on the batteries. It would probably take a month to really hurt the batteries.

Short answer... no, you don't need an isolator if you drive the car at least once a week

i'd do big 3 as the other guys said before, if u add the battery.
