Hi. I plan on starting a build very soon. It will go in an '06 Jeep Liberty. I plan on revamping the whole stereo. Since this is my first system, I have been researching different products now for about 4-5 months, so I already have a general idea of what i want. I don't plan on doing install myself because i don't trust myself enough, and I really want to do this right. There are a couple good car audio shops in my area that i trust for installation. I listen to primarily rap and music with heavy bass. I have a budget of around 2,500$. A. Headunits A new headunit will be the first thing that i buy. I have researched this a lot and i think i have finally narrowed it down to two different head units. At this point, i'm either going to go with the Alpine CDA-9886 or the Pioneer DEH-P7200HD. They are around the same price. I have heard great things about the CDA-9886 and am leaning more in that direction. I was wondering if anyone had any input on the DEH-P7200HD. If so that would be great. B. Speaker comps/amp In regards to speakers, I really haven't found or heard of any speakers to which i have a preference of. Everyone i have asked has always told me that the only real way to find out is to listen yourself. If anyone has any suggestions of speakers geared more towards rap music. As for the powering the speakers, i am leaning towards the Sundown SAX-100.4D. I was curious if anyone had any comments about Audioque though. A friend of mine is running his stuff off of Audioque amps and it sounds pretty good but i was wondering if anyone has heard both and could give some good comparison. C. Subs I have been researching and looking at different subs for a while now. I am definitely going with Fi. Its most likely going to be a "15 BTL. As for powering, I was thinking the Sundown SAZ-1500D, but i feel like the 1500 would almost be overkill. Any input on this would be great. As for an enclosure, i could build it myself but would need to buy a design somewhere. Any suggestions on where the best place to purchase a design would be great. D. Wiring/extras As for wiring, i haven't thought a whole lot about it. i often see references to the big 3 but am still not quite sure on what it is. If someone could direct me to a link explaining it or explain it to me that would be great. Wiring is an area that i am not as clear about and would need some extra help with. This is my first build and i have been researching for a while before i made any significant posts. I really want to do this right and i'm willing to put in the effort and do some extra research. Any suggestions or criticism would be extremely appreciated. Thanks so much.

Hi, first off i would like to say that all suggestions are welcome and taken into account. I am looking for new speakers for a set up that i will be beginning very soon. For the speakers, i'm on a budget of around $300 dollars. I'm looking for speakers geared more towards rap/hip-hop, so something that can hit the lows well and has clear, crisp highs. Loudness is always a plus. I was thinking that a Sundown SAX-100.4D would be able to power most speakers that i would be considering but any suggestions on different amps would be appreciated. If you need anymore information just let me know. Thanks in advance.

What is the best way to decide on a head unit? My budget is no more than $250. I want something that looks clean, functions well, and sounds good too. Does anyone have any experience with the Alpine iDA-X303?

How much would two Havoc 12s run me? And what would the best amp for my money be if i do end up getting them?
-
also it will be for daily use. no competitions or anything like that.

Alright well originally I thought i was going to have a budget of about 1,500-2,000. But after doing a lot more research and looking around i've determined that i'd rather pay a little bit more money and get nicer equipment because if i go cheap i'm just going to end up upgrading later anyways. Basically i'm looking for a loud spl system. I'm either going to go with one 15 or two 12s. I'm leaning towards the two 12s but my options are pretty much open.
-
I'm not sure if anyone has asked, but what is the pricing on the Havocs?
-
well its for sure in the future. but i haven't decided on what kind i'm going to get yet. i was just inquiring

Power, space, and budget aside, for loudness, should i get one 15, or 2 12s? what would hit harder?

What are the best speakers for under $300? JVC and JL are my top choices so far. Any suggestions, comments, or insights would be greatly appreciated

I've heard some Alpine Type X speakers and they are great but i was just curious if anyone more experienced than me had some suggestion.
-
uh oh. did he just say "best".... someone help this guy. What are you looking for? SQ or SPL. In other words... you want to sound good or do you want to get loud? I mean obviously everyone WANTS both, but lets say if you had to choose... pick one. Ok. I have effectively been embarrassed. I listen to a lot of rap so I am looking for louder component speakers. i have a $300 budget for speakers.
