I am starting a new kerfed enclosure for two Pioneer ts-w3002d4 subs. I am a little unsure of how to calculate the volume of the kerfed or flared port. I have two designs so far but I am unsure of which will be the best. I am gonna do two separate boxes and attach them together. Which is better?

I am looking to buy a new component set for my Jeep. I have a Sundown Audio 125.2 amp and i want to do a passive crossover setup. I want them to be loud but sound good as well, I am also selling my new set of CDT speakers, if anyone wants more info on the set I'm selling let me know. I am basically looking to spend $150-$250, if anyone has any recommendations please let me know. Someone told me to buy these: http://www.woofersetc.com/p2571/MM6--Polk-Audio-65"-Momo-Competition-Component-Set.htm I'm wondering if anyone has used them or has a review on these

Well get everything figured out Saturday night and post it all on here.

We have tried everything that was mentioned on this thread except for the deadening, and I still have the same problems. There is no mid bass.
-
Have you read any of the thread above? Done any adjustments to your install? So far you complain about popping, we tell you how to fix it, but you don't listen and just want to buy another component set and have the same problem. Weve done everything you guys have suggested and it hasnt fixed the problems, Im not gonna buy sound deadening if the speakers still cant handle any power. Ive tried everything else, I appreciate the help, but it hasnt worked.

I just went for a ride and my speakers kept popping at higher volumes, everything is set at the same levels it was originally set to. So I think i need a set that can handle more power.

I'm going to get 50 square feet of Fat Mat, has anyone used it and is 50 ft enough to do 4 doors and the rear hatch on a jeep gcl?

So basically these speakers, http://www.woofersetc.com/p2571/MM6--Polk-Audio-65"-Momo-Competition-Component-Set.htm wouldn't be any louder that these, http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=5207 which are the ones i have in now?

How are the mids mounted? Cheap plastic OEM adaptor or a solid MDF baffle? Is the door well sealed and deadened or completely stock? Is there a level setting on the crossover for the tweeter, and if so where is it set? Yes, that quite possibly would affect the gain setting as the loudness would cause the preamp outputs to output higher voltage and probably clip sooner than when it is set to off. Also I would skip the DMM for setting the gain and do it by ear, if you wanted you could use the DMM after it was set to where you wanted just to help verify it wasn't completely out of whack. I would also try adjusting the highpass setting for the component set, a slightly higher crossover frequency might allow the mids to get a little louder without reaching their excursion limits as soon. Its a solid mdf baffle but there is only a thin layer of stock deadening on the doors. I remember we tried turning up the amp and the speakers immediately started making popping noises. I'm figuring that since the set was only $100, you get what you pay for and they're just not great quality. But I suppose it could be an issue of tuning.

OK I listen to rap, hip hop, some rock every now and then. My first set of speakers were not loud enough. My budget is $150-250. I am sticking to passive because i cant afford another amp unless someone wants to give me one for free...I have a SAX125.2, and it's going into a 2003 Jeep GCL. The set i originally posted handled more power than the ones i currently have so i figured they would be louder, not a downgrade.

Wait, what did you do, OH you just name called, it's hilarious that you think your such a grown up, but then you resort to acting like a 13yr. old girl whos having her first episode of pms. Can you please stop complaining and trying to insult people, because you're only making yourself look bad.

Btw, I doubt a real "grown ass man" would resort to a comment like that...it basically shows your level of maturity, and it's obviously really low.

I was looking at focals but they are very expensive.
-
Ok and that's why i listed what I wanted in the beginning, so I didn't have to look through lots of pages and thousands of posts in order to find the right set. I don't have the time a "grown ass man" like yourself has. Stop responding, you're no help at all, go on with your "grown ass man" duties.

You know what else cold have been avoided? The talk about going active, seeing as I posted that I'm sticking to passive in the first post.
-
I said I wanted to go passive on the first post...If you can't help me and have nothing to offer as a suggestion, then don't bother reponding. All I'm looking for is a suggestion, not a lecture saying I should go active.
-
I would obviously need to upgrade again but thats waaaay down the road when i start pulling in some real money lol.
-
I understand, but all I'm looking for is a recommendation on what speakers to buy, or if the ones i posted are any good. I am happy with going passive, and would like to stay that way. If I was to buy another amp I would still need to buy another set of speakers because the ones I have cant handle the power i want to put into them. And I def. don't have the money for it lol.
-
Oh trust me I know lol, I spent every paycheck this summer on car audio lol

How do you figure that? Its simply taking away the passive crossover network and wiring the speakers straight to the amp. Then tune accordingly. Well wouldn't I need another amp? Yes you would. Have you looked into a used 125.2? Like this. SAX125.2 used I have a 125.2 already I know that. I meant buying another. If you have the money to buy more speakers, then why not an amp? Basically because i dont want another amp, i said i want different speakers, not an amp.
