    Addictive Audio

I emailed ya'll about a dealer because im curious about prices. And vids would be awesome
  3. I have an 86 crown vic with a kicker 300 watt amp powering an IA 187 15. When i have the volume or bass up i get some very noticable dimming from my interior and exterior lights. I think the stock alternator is only a sixty five amp. What i want to know is will this up grade help my dimming, and what exactly is it. I know its replacing wires with larger wire, but what wires should be replaced and how big should i go. I tried using the search feature but i guess its idiot proof.
  4. Sorry i couldnt find the thread. Thanks for the quick replies and pic. Is there a store chain that sells that size wire or would looking online be more cost effiecient? I emailed a company about a HO alt they qouted me 550 plus shipping for a 200amp, but autozone has a 100 amp replacement for a reasonable price ill look into. I would have thought about that before hand but i didn't think an amp that small would draw that much current. This is supposed to be a temporary vehicle so i really didn't want to dump alot of money into things that couldn't transfer from this car thats why ive left the alt stock so far. Also would i need to make the power wire from my batt to my amp 1/0 to?

    FIREWALL HELP!!

See if you can run it through the door gap. I dont know if its a big enough space on your car or not but i got 4 gauge wire ran through mine then hidden under the carpet through the backseat to the trunk and for reference i drive an 86 crown vic. Also if you are in a hurry or dont want to spend money on a bushing a cheap less cosmetic appealing way would be to drill the hole then use a spare piece of heater hose as a shield to protect the wire.

    187 series 15"

I hope this type of thread is not against the rules. I love this sub its loud but not distorted at all imho it has good SQ also, Its in a ported box with 64" of port area and a volume of 4 cubic feet ran off of a kicker 300.1 amplifier. I ordered it from SSA it arrived in a week undamaged and safe. I just wanted to post this for anyone thinking of buying a good sub thats not gonna be super loud but loud enough to make your ears hurt lol. Once again sorry if this is against any rules. Here is a link to a crappy vid i made of it the day after it was installed not yet broken in.

    187 series 15"

The box is 4 cubes before port and sub displacement. I didnt make the port longer because i thought you couldn't have more than a 1:9 width to height ratio.

    187 series 15"

Well the 400 watts is out of the question because i called the dude a couple days ago and it was sold. But im going to keep my eyes open for a good 400 watt amp for cheap, also the sub is starting to break in now so output has noticably increased. Im going to make some better videos here soon. Thanks for all the help

Some places are funny like that. I just wanted to say im very satisfied with this product and give a review that might help someone new to car audio. Also do you think this sub would live behind a kicker zx400.1?

    Problem with rubber speaker gasket/seal

If you used that as a sealant would you be able to get the sub back out of the box?

Hello this is my first post here. Ive been researching and looking at subs for a while trying to decide what sub to put in my 86 crown vic. Ive been pointed towards IA and have heard many good things about them thats why i am gonna go with the 187 15. I was gonna put it in a ported box. I have plenty of space for a box in my trunk I have looked and researched sub calculators and all that but still don't know how to determine the frequency and portsize or design. Im going for a mix of volume and sound quality. And would like to know how to pick the frequency, how to tune the box to that, and what portsize. My dad is a carpenter and i was gonna give him the demensions and he will build it from 3/4 MDF. Thanks for your help.

So i ran the program and entered the specs for the driver i was using then used that driver for a vented box and got the same thing. It Had the Volume for 710L and the frequency for 19.35 then below it it said Ql 7.0. Is the Ql ohm load? I just need to know how big to build the box and how big of port it needs can someone please help me with that? Also its a rectangle box with a slot port.

I was looking at winsid on the web page here http://www.linearteam.dk/default.aspx?pageid=newdriver and i was wondering what to put in the last four boxes to the right. Im sorry for the noobness but im trying to learn. Also its going in the trunk so theres plenty of space for the box, and i plan on using a memphis class D 1000w amp 500watts rms at 4 ohms. I havent bought it yet so if it wont work or isnt right i can get somthing different.
