I was thinking about sound deadening but just wasn't sure how much work i wanted to put in a car thats 24 years old. Thanks alot for all the help. I may sound noobish and i may not post much but i spend a lot of time reading the good info hear and i am glad that there are places like this that actually have meaningful discussions without a bunch of bullshit.

I guess that they work better in the Infinite Baffle type setup of a door panel? Do you have any other tips or tricks that would help the install? I just feel like i left something out or that it could sound better.

That is exactly what i was asking about. Somethink like that or similar. I was wondering if it would maybe make it a little bit louder? I was just curious about that. thank you for your help. I don't really know if louder would be the term. Just better sounding in general I always hear here that sound is very install dependent so i was just curious if there was a way to get a bit more "loudness" i guess.

No i don't mean a ring. I mean like something behind the speaker, I just cant think of the word to describe it. The speakers are the walmart sony xplode 5 1/4" Coaxials. I got them because the car only had a set of 6x9's in the rear package tray and needed something for the front. I was just wondering if there was something similar to the PVC cap idea i could use to put the speaker in, the speaker itself is mounted directly in the factory cutout in the doorpanel

Try a noise supressor there also called ground loop isolators. Before you spend money on it I would check your grounds -
I bet that left a mark.

You could try emailing sub companies that come with those on the subs, I got an old fosgate 12 from a buddy a few years back that had one on it. Im hoping it fits the lethal injection 12 im orderin soon. The 187 i got from them came with one so the LI's should to.

Craigslist is a great place to make money. Cut grass. The other methods get you arrested lol.

Check the coils with a DMM if there not what there supposed to be then Contact nick at IA. Ive dealt with him and ordered from him and he was super helpful im sure he would swap it out.

Thats some beautiful work on that box. -
I was directed to IA from CAF and saw the SSA store.
-
Why not just sell 1 sub then make the proper ported box for 1 18, and keep the back seats?

I'm going tonight to purchase the amp listed above for 150$. How much do you guys think i could sell it for? Also would I be able to run my 15" ia 187 off it with the gain all the way down temporarily? Thanks for the help.

You could get a 95-99 Z71 Blazer space in the back, and 4WD

To the OP: It takes alot of balls to admit so something like that, even if its only on an internet forum. Ive been through it before, you have to figure out what triggers you to use, and avoid then figure out more positive ways to cope with your triggers.

What box are you building for your Type R's? That set up will probably be a good bit louder, but its all install dependent. Have you looked at other IA subs a pair of Lethal injections would get pretty loud in the right box.

He was askin $250 but i told him id do $150 cash as soon as i got off work. -

Help me with my electrical systm please!!
CrownVic replied to ExplicitYourSelf's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Belt squeel means the belt is slipping which can mean its not turning your alternator to charge your electrical. Till you get this fixed i would advise you to keep your bump down and watch that voltage to avoid ruining your battery. -
How do I test voltage from amp?
CrownVic replied to Lifted07Duramax's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
You could always just test your voltage at the batt, or before the amp. -
Great deal.

I had strait pipes on my crown vic. It sounded good but the pipe dumped under the back seat so it was loud inside. Now i have true duals with mufflers sounds better much quiter but Its almost to quiet. I like it now though.
-
Look into audiopipe. Decent budget amps that do power at 2ohms. But if you can get a used or refurb sundown.

Well its my senior year of highschool and i've been trying to figure out what to do with my life. I don't really have ideas but i was thinking about something to do with car audio. I enjoy tinkering with my system alot and think it would make a fun career. My question for ya'll would be does any body here besides the SSA owners do this as a career? Do you have any advice for me or guidance. I wanna eventually have a store that sells quality products very similar to the SSA store. Is there a school for this? Would there be a field i would need a degree in? Thanks for the help. EDIT: If any body is in the field if you don't mind me asking, what kind of salary should i expect to see?
