In the market for a Lift Kit or Air Ride.

Air ride is a pain in the a**. I had alot of trouble with mine. -
800w @ 30hz did a 153.7 on the dash. I'm waiting on my other 20.1 to get back so I can run one on each sub at 1ohm. I'm very impressed with there out put with such little power. I can't wait to see it at 4000w lol

Nice builds!!

I'm planing on 3-4 more layers of mdf on the front and I'm going to flair the port and around the subs. I'm just waiting to find a router so it will have a nice clean roll on the edge.

At this point, we should almost require build logs here. , I agree (it should be part of the rules when signing up, once you ask a question about car audio you have to do a build log).

Radio pop?
flipzslick replied to flipzslick's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Glade it makes someone happy my wife hates it! The engine grounds all have been upgraded to 0g. Engine to body engine to batt, batt to body. Then in the back I had Every batt to it's own ground, and I had a copper bar connecting all of them. Didn't help. And the 148 was really a 148.2 on the dash with a TL. Lol -
My radio make my subs "pop" when I change tracks and turn off the car. I have tried replacing the rca's that didn't help. differnt head unit stopped it. But I wanna try to keep my kenwood. Any sugestions. I have heard that there is away to stop it just don't know how.

Radio pop?
flipzslick replied to flipzslick's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Still does it when I press mute. The other thing that I forgot was an all the amps I try if I turn the gain up the subs just hit countineusly. Until I 1. Turn off the HU or 2. Turn down the amp -
Radio pop?
flipzslick replied to flipzslick's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Thanks guys. I have triedany ground locations nothings helping. If I hook the head unit up to a batt free from my car it plays fine, still has a slight pop but not as loud as before. I think I'm gunna try a ground loop and see if that fixes it. I wouldn't even worry about it but it's hard to come home and try not to wake anyone up lol. When I turn the key off it's s 148db burp lol that's why I'm trying to quiet it down. -
I have two d2 subs (d1.4). I have two IA 20.1's should I strap them at 2 ohms or run 1 sub pre amp at 1 ohm?

Radio pop?
flipzslick replied to flipzslick's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Well it does it every time I change tracks or turn off the key. I have already went pretty overkill on grounds lol. But ass for amps idk it did it on my old Memphis 4kws and now on my IA 20.1's. -

I upgraded all my grounds to 0/1 gauge. Cleans of paint secuered tightly. Is the ground what's causing it? -
Sub forward port forward would be best. 10^'s after displacment? That's gunna lower your power handaling. I would just do 8-9^'s.
-
Is there any real differance between the two? Pros and cons of the two?

Hey I use ups, fedex is worse. The not only screwed up the cone on one of my 21's but shattered the basket broke off the motor, cracked the magnets. So I give ups a thumbs up for never screwing anything up on me. I've had nothing but good luck with ups and nothing but bad with fedex

in that pic it looks like it may ave been hiting the seat so it might of had a bad start when you putit into the wall. but the 11+ cubes didnt help anyway go to lowes there wood isnt to bad.

flipzslick replied to notloudenuff's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
For 60sq in of port. @5^ it'll be like 3x5x11 5/8 tuned at 33 hz. That's just a rough est. On port and sub displacment. -
Maybe it's just where your buying it?

flipzslick replied to notloudenuff's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
I would just put the sub on the pass. Side and port on the drivers side. That'll be the easyest way. -
They play good at 8.5^s 32 hz 120sq of port. wattage depends on you really I have two walled doing 150's off of 800w ( waiting for other 20.1 to get fixed). The sound great! There's nothing but great reveiws on the dp's don't matter the size.
