    Welcome to the IHoP

my next box will have round pvc ports. Just because i've never tried them, i have my L slot port now (even though i screwed up the internal volume BAD) and i ran my triangle ports before. Now its time to try round ones

the solidworks thing is ultimately useless, but it at least lets me see the box and get an idea of the port and everything. Where it really comes in handy is checking the net volume, once you've made everything to scale just click a few buttons and viola you have all those measurements that usually take me 30min to do on paper

    Welcome to the IHoP

i used to have a phone number for a place that would sell the FSM's, just about any car ever made too. $100/set of 3 i talked my gf at the time into ordering a set for the daytona. Suga mommas are the best

hmmm it keeps moving my dimensions all around, they're fine when i look at the project in solidorks, but when i save it as a .jpeg they go all to hell, here's a screencap with a CF texture http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y50/vladd...z68inportcf.jpg

    Welcome to the IHoP

Ok so my solidworks knowledge has increased to about 1/10 My goal for today was the learn to use it enough to model up my boxes (i like being able to see them) here's a preview, i added the woodgrain for chits and giggles http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y50/vladd...7hz68inport.jpg if anyone has a box that they might want me to do (thats very simple) i'll do one or two for practice for ya note: unlike everyone else on certain other forums i wont be trying to sell these, this is purely for my own benefit

FSM's? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Factory Service Manual usually a set of three books that are worth their weight in gold when working on a car, think of a haynes or chilton on serious steroids.

    Welcome to the IHoP

yes, it was just little things like an air vent and a broken power window switch. I really need some FSM's if they happened to have those though.

    Welcome to the IHoP

i was before, but not anymore, the junk yard here has about 6 of them and very reasonable prices.

I think we can all associate with this...

when my ava arrived, they sat it on the doorstep (nobody signed for it, which they were supposed to) and didn't set it in a dry spot, it had rained earlier that day and they sat it in a puddle of water. Luckily the woofer was suspended in the box, so it didn't really matter.

    Welcome to the IHoP

building in the trunk is possible, but i'd like to stay away from it. I'm seriously going to hack away at the opening. The cabin/trunk opening, not truck/outside opening. There's a lip that runs along the top that hangs down at least 2-3" maybe more, i won't have a lock on my folding seat, but who really cares. The best part is my mounting height will skyrocket, i'll be able to slide in a box of at least 16x37 (dept at about 30 at least) all with no problems at all.
