Give me your opinions on vehicles

my big issue with this car is that it won't be paid for out of my pocket (well not at the moment). It will have to be paid for by the people that spoil me most. The problem is that they are REALLLLLLLLY pushing for a new car. They don't want me with anything more than a couple years old and definitely not with significant miles. If it was me paying with my money i'd be looking to spend about 14k and looking at a completely different class of cars.

Tc is non-negotiable, the crossfire is going to have only a small amount of wiggle room as well. i get what you're saying about price though, but if i get it to within a couple grand of the others i'll be happy (note i can get a new one without all the frills for low 20s easily) the altima is really getting me because of the 20gallon tank and reportedly up to 38mpg highway, that's a long time between fillups.

Insurance is another factor as this will be paid straight out of my pocket. Strangely enough though, the crossfire is the cheapest of all the cars so far. Liability (not that i'd get it) is under $20/month. The altima is the highest(IIRC) but not so bad that i'd make me not get it. I think i'm going to drive an altima with the 5sp this weekend, and i'm now reading that the 6sd in the crossfire isn't exactly "nice" though i'd want to drive one to tell for myself. The charger is out, i'm too small for all those frame vehicles and just not very fond of them in general. I hate the idea of building a vehicle to be heavy as fuck then adding a big engine to it. If they were to shed 500-1k lbs i'd be all over them.

Mazda 6 is on there because i haven't driven it, and that's the only reason. What i've driven thus far..... Crossfire with auto Mini Cooper S with auto (turbo version) Civic SI with manual Altima 2.5 w/CVT TC with 5spd --maybe others that i can't remember ATM Hands down the most fun was the cooper, but it has too many drawbacks for me to consider it. The altima and the crossfire are the most attractive in my book, with the altima easily winning for MPG but classy is crossfire hands down and the crossfire was much more fun to drive than the altima. the altima's 20gallon tank and up to 38mpg highway is a huge huge plus that's not frequent fillups at all

Long story short ... drive 'em all and see what you like best. If you find out about major problems with your top pick, it may be time to look at the second. Just don't go piss away hard earned money on something you aren't 100% sure about - get exactly what you want. I was DEAD set on going with a CTS ... but clearly I didn't wind up with one. A couple year old Charger R/T (340hp and still 23-26MPG on the highway if you use the MDS) is in your price range. Same for an '07 Accord, '05-'06 G35, etc. I'm not one to jump in to any sort of decision which is why i'm doing this. I really appreciate you and dem's opinions/help. Tc VS Civic, i drove both of these and liked the Tc way more which is why the civic isn't on the list. civic seemed extremely cheap on the inside and i just didn't like the way it drove. Not a fan of the CVT because i just don't feel like it applies the power the way I like, it has the shifttronic thing so i can still shift it, so i can deal with it, but i'd prefer the 6spd. I"ll finish this up later, classes are changing

Is it still going to be practical for you a few years down the road? if i end up becoming a potential father my biggest concern is where to hide the gfs body, not where to put a carseat Good man. Nice little cars though. 215hp in that thing is enough to get it going. I drove one while I was at the Chrysler/Dodge lot and naturally found it a little cramped. They had a used one there ... '07 with 16,000 kilometers in mint condition priced right around $17,500 before negotiating. I put one on once and decided it wasn't worth a drive around the block bent over in half, but considering that won't be your issue the only thing I'd worry about is long term reliability (I know nothing of it, but the net can help you with that one). yea especially considering i'm 5'6 and the gf is 5'nothoing the car was plenty big, but if i was a few inches taller i could see it being a problem. For you tall fuckers you'd need the convertible just to fit. So far i haven't found any good(reliable) reliability reports either negative or positive, but most of the mpg people are getting is WAY better than rated, usually running mid to upper 20s

    Welcome to the IHoP

god damn it, the upcoming Tc is supposed to have the 2.5L which is a much better engine. For 20k i can get a very nice used car but won't be able to afford insurance for it, and it'll probably have a less gas friendly v-6 or 8. ugh

    Welcome to the IHoP

as much as i love the 300, it suffers the same problems as all the dodge vehicles....weight if they'd shave of about a thousand pounds that car would be unbelievable, just to offer a stripped version with the big engine and zero creature comforts would suffice
