so what HU will you be running? going with a screen? i'm in the process of gathering the stuff for the 701 combo as well, i just bought the 9861, now i need to find an h701 -
i don't understand them 100% but what i THINK is that the upconverting is a fake 1080p, kinda like taking a 128kbps mp3 and upconverting it to 320kbps. It's not nearly as good as a recording that was originally ripped in 320, but possibly better than 128. the HD-DVD and blu-ray are actually a higher quality recording.

if you would explain your problem clearly with carriage returns you will get way more help. Organize your thoughts, explain your problem and what happened clearly, and then pose questions. i'm still betting you hit something while working on the amp while it was on, too many things can go wrong that way.

can i count the spare engine i have? that would bring me to 16

just make sure your amp grounds are spectacular. I found that changing mine to a better spot helped(instead of the ass of my car where there's the greatest potential for a ground loop). -

get your rhythm right and you can throw a couple hundred out in no time, too fast and you'll get errors and miss posts, too slow and the next window will pop up
-
watching a movie while tapping the enter key (after highlighting the post button of course)
-
it'll make a difference but if it were me i'd still try it out, i bet it won't be that noticeable

def sounds like you just fried your amp(s) and they're just throwing dc to the subs. this probably happened as you were unhooking a speaker lead while the amp was powered on, your screwdriver touched the amp body while touching the + speaker screw. An expensive little mistake
