yeah they have been having troubles with those magnets, i ordered mine last august and it was the same issue. It was before the whole "30 day lead time" announcement. Scott just called me to tell me what was happening. I would wait a few more days as i'm sure nick and scott are probably swamped with people calling about it. Then i would give 'em a call. Maybe they will respond to this here...

bass boost blows. like nick said, just be sure to set the subsonic filter about... oh 2 hz (i hope to god that's right) below what your box is tuned to. And set your gains right of course

What is everyones fav spl head unit?
Frostedflakejake replied to spbfitz's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
well, as for a good SQ and overall good HU i would go with the Eclipse 7200 MKII (only complaint is the complexity!! But then again, that's what makes it so good! all the tuning options!) as for a cool HU with lots of curb appeal that doesn't suffer too much SQ... Kenwood KVT-514 -
sounds like your on the right track. the audioque is a great amp!!! Have you looked into more powerful batteries yet? It would be in your best interest to invest in one. I would recommend the kinetik HC2400 myself... As for alternators, i would see if Iraggi has one compatible with your vehicle. I haven't read a single bad comment about their alternators and they are competitively priced. May i ask what you are doing for a box? Build your own or oder a custom? Also, as above posters stated, you are starting big!!! I wish i did that myself, would have saved a lot of money!

so after purchasing the BTL i need to beef up the rest of the system. Im riding in a 2004 Ford Explorer. I was thinking two sets of RF T1572 (power series!). WRMS 70 a piece. thinking about powering them with a JL audio J2 320.4 (60 watts to four speakers.) Wondering if anyone had any experience with either of these products and any suggestions for other full range speakers? im looking to spend about 350-400 for 2 sets of speakers and an amp. I know its kinda cheap.... but oh well. The head unit is the Eclipse CD7200 MKII (soon to be that is =] i just want some and any input before i make this purchase!! thanks

would you recommend these over the 1/2" thick dynamat?

i like this =] cool pictures. my BTL has the one in the middle!!

How long did it take for YOUR sub to arrive ?
Frostedflakejake replied to hatrix's topic in General Fi
took mine about... 14 to 16 days, i can't remember for sure. I got a call from... Scott i believe on the seventh day saying that a shipment of their magnets was held up in customs. due to the extended period of time, Scott included a free shirt and a free sticker pack! I wasn't even concerned with the fact that the BTL hadn't come yet. I really couldn't be pleased more with the Fi customer service. The fact that Scott took time out of his day to call me AND include the free stuff amazed me. Don't worry, it will come, and if it doesn't, you can always give them a call! But wait a while first! -
Too Cold?
Frostedflakejake replied to SynCity's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
yeah that won't be a problem. I'm up in the upper peinsula of michigan where its about 34 right now. Last winter it was well below zero on quite a few days and everything still works just fine!! especially with the amp. the only real worry is to allow the subs to warm up for 5 minutes or so before really blasting them. (that's not my intelligence, i asked a similar question to yours on the forum and that's the response i got) But as far as my experience goes, the cold won't effect your amp -
wow that's.. interesting. still got my packaging

sweet. good looks guys THANKS

Not sure if this is the right place for this, i apologize if it gets moved. So my concern is if sub-zero temperatures have any effect on subwoofers or their electrical counterparts. I know it seems stupid but i want to make sure i don't harm anything. I'll be attending michigan technological university in the upper peninsula of michigan next year where its not un-common for temperatures to reach below zero in the winter. IS there anyway that prolonged exposure to those sort of temperatures could hurt my btl? or my sundown amp? thanks

Thumppers Ford Windstar Ground Pounder
Frostedflakejake replied to Thumpper's topic in Pound That Sound
the windstars were never made with a honda engine. First generation windstars (1995-1998) either had the 3.0 liter vulcan or the 3.8 liter essex. Now i will say with the first gen windstars there were... a few problems.... but if your's has a honda engine in it, that's not ford motor companies doing. and i like de build -
Do you make ported boxes bigger than 5.5 cubes? im looking at about 8 cubes after sub displacement and bracing and polyfill

Best amp for Fi BTL 18" fully loaded??
Frostedflakejake replied to subs101's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
yes, either the saz2000d or the 3000d (if you set your gains right!! there is a step-by-step process in the electrical section of how to do this) do you know of dr-b??? they sell refurbished sundown audio amps. i'm matching my 18 btl with a saz3000d from dr-b. good luck! post some pictures -
SAZ-2000D vs. SAZ-3000D
Frostedflakejake replied to SynCity's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
i would go with the 3000d. Both are great amps, but with setting your gains right the 3000d would be perfect for your subs and then like the above poster stated, if you ever wanted to expand on your system, you can use the same amp!! its a great buy. dont take them all from db-r!!!! save me one! -
Got My New Fi Q18! Got some questions!
Frostedflakejake replied to sqfreak1127's topic in Fi Products
Yeah... Fi is a born and bred in america company. Whatever seller told you obviously just wanted you to buy his stuff instead. the company is based out of Las Vegas and has the best customer service i've ever seen. And great sound quality... especially with the Q's... it is their sound quality driver. -
there is no way you can blow your glass with just one btl

Comparing Head Units!!!
Frostedflakejake posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Okay, just for fun and to satisfy my curiosity...... In your opinion, what is the best head unit? Best flip up head unit? by best i mean: sound quality (of course), functionality, easy to use, and lastly; curb appeal and looks. -
