S.DeYoung, IIRC you're in Grand Rapids right? We could do a mid-southern state meet-up because I know there are a few guys from GR here. If there's enough interest i'll meet anywhere really... do you have any scheduling complications?

I know Hove is local too! C'mon guys!

Amp Cooling Problems
Frostedflakejake replied to DarkTinman's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I would give this a try personally. Forms a ducting effect. Pictures would greatly help so we could all understand how much, or little, room you're referring to. -
Speaker Boy - Excellent looking forward to it. Shogen - I'm a little confused, you CAN or CAN'T tell the difference?
-
If you get it, let me know, I'm kind of in the same boat as you are
-
Also, isn't 1% Distortion at 8 ohms a little much? And i ask that question honestly as I'm fairly new to all this as well.
-
Not sure if the OP would mind, but he did specify a 5.1 channel amp

Aw man Impious beat me to it. Something cool that i actually knew too! A first for me on this forum. Cool video though, will probably inform a few people -
This is a good idea. As he stated, you will probably crash your first bike. You will most likely crash any bike you have for an extended time, but still, you'll crash the first bike alot more. I just crashed my first road bike I encourage everyone to give motorcycling a try. It can be very rewarding and give you a feeling of freedom. You really really have to ask yourself if you're responsible enough to handle.... well... the responsibility of riding a motorcycle. It can be hard to not ride on the shoulder of the freeway when you're stuck in dead traffic and your bike is overheating. It can be hard when that guy pulls next to you in a ferarri with a hot chick and then says some snide stuck-up response and still leave the light in a normal fashion even though you KNOW you could rape him off the line (most likely). There's just a lot of things you have to ask yourself. Then give it a shot and see how you like it. I started riding clutch motorcycles since i was 8. Got my first "dangerous" bike when i was 13. Endorsement at 16. First bike right before 17 I hope you find the right way
-
I'm sorry. I'm coming at this in all the wrong ways. What are you looking for in a motorcycle?
-
You realize how fast those bikes are.... right?
-
You have no riding experience. Why do you think you're too big for a 600? A liter bike isn't set up for a bigger person. What 600 did you ride? I suppose you understand the risks so I wont bore you by sounding like your mother. Do you have your endorsement? I would get that first. Try to test ride some bikes. Some dealerships are super cool, most aren't, but some of them are. How big are you? What's a bike that you think looks really cool?

So when I watch all the instruction videos on Second Skin's website, and when i look at all the pics of builds, i observe that the silver foil is what you see after the installation. I'm confused because the Damplifier Pro has the black adhesive on the bottom, the foil, and then a thin black top that is glued/attached somehow to the foil. If i take off the wax cover and then install it, I'll be seeing the black cover on the outside and not the foil like all the videos and user installation shows. I'm assuming I should just take off the wax cover, roll it on, and not worry about that small black layer? That seems rather obvious to me, but the videos on Second Skin's website show differently and so do the user installations. Here are some pics to clarify. Thank-You

Hm... I want to judge but I can't without seeing your evidence first. All i know is that i love this forum and i think every single member makes it better. Even the not so smart people that are flat out retarded. But i won't help you get a bad rating Sorry. But i also wouldn't be surprised if you are inebriated in some form right now... after all, people have been hating on you for months and you rarely respond hastily, but now at this hour in the day you make this post? I enjoy your builds quite a lot and your port area.....

Haaha the funny part is that i meant that will all innocence. I'm only 19 years old so my memory doesn't stretch back that far. But i think i get what your getting at GMC
-
Excessive heat warning did go out today. First time in my memory of that ever happening. but that's not saying much
-
Oh my god what am I smoking. Hhaha I am so sorry SpeakerBoy. Disregard everything i've said. For some reason my eyes read "Orion HCCA" and my brain heard "AQ HDC series". Again, my apologies, I was talking about a completely different subwoofer than you. Goodluck man
-
I dunno man, all I'm saying is that if SQ was a priority to me, I wouldn't be looking at HCCA's. But that's probably an irrational decision on my part since my experience with them is solely on paper and not in real life. Just figured I'd let ya know I thought about picking up a pair of their fifteens myself.... i might one day if i can get a good deal. Just to get experience ya kno?
-
SQ is priority? I'm not really an experienced individual, but I've heard alot of experienced individuals speak on the HCCA. SQ isn't something they really give the HCCA credits to. From what I've read, which is a considerable amount, the HCCA is definitely a LOUD priority sub with very, very, very, very little emphasize on SQ

will this work?
Frostedflakejake replied to knockinthastreetzof608's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
you can use any switch. wireless switch, hardwired rocker switch. Anything. Use the remote turn on for the amplifier instead of the actual power cable. That way you don't have to worry about amperage issues. Hell, you don't have to use a switch. Cut your REM cable and then use spade connectors to reconnect them. Then disconnect them when your brother drives your car. (wouldn't REALLY suggest that but you could do it like that)
