What would a DD M3a compare to?
Frostedflakejake replied to accordwithbass's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Based upon information from the companies websites, I would say that the DDM3a is comparable to the SAZ-2500d. -

x2. The description on the website is exactly the same.

Not too applicable in this situation. Tungsten is quite different to telephone wire where as speaker wire and voice coil wiring is extremely similar if not identical. Duran was just pointing out the fact that people over-stress speaker wire size. People think they need 10 awg or 8 awg. The people that ask those questions though, essentially never need anything that big. Or even close to it.
-
Well it appears like it's too late, but for next time... it's about as simple as can be. Take the wire. Take a utility knife/razor blade. Start hacking at it until it fits. Simple!
-
My guess would be something like 24awg But if he wants it to fit directly into his amp without any shaving or any reducers, which he appears to want, then I'm all for helping him out. Personally, I would have taken the free wire and just shaved it down...

I might have missed it, but what amplifier are you using?
-
I apologize. It just occurred to me that you could be concerned with fitment into terminals rather than amperage loads!
-
I think you mean what amp? I don't think I've used anything other than 12ga. Whether at 3000 watts or 1000.

I like it Stefan. It's really clean!

Is there a green lighted amp?
Frostedflakejake replied to Briggiboy33's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Why don't you just buy whatever amp and then swap their LED for a green LED....... -
Yes. But you know its not that simple. The tuning needs to be correct and you must also maintain the proper port area while doing reaching said tuning. It isn't that complicated, but people still get it wrong. And if you're paying someone else to do it, you want to make sure that they do it correctly. That's why I suggested posting the box specifications that the builder plans to build the box to. Mechman and DC. They both have sections here on the forum. Those are the two most highly acclaimed that I know of.
-
You have much, much more port area than I... This is all too familiar! My SA 15 box is, IIRC, 7.3 net cubic feet! Looking good!
-
I build and owned a sealed enclosure at around 7 cubic feet for 2 SA 15''s on a SAZ-3000d at 2 ohms. I ran the set-up for about 2 months. It didn't have the output I was seeking so I installed aeroports. I don't really know what else you were looking for.... but I hope I was useful in someway!

RE audio doesn't currently make a 2500 amp. http://www.reaudio.com/amps.php Are you talking about the XTX 5000.1 ? It's the only one on their website that makes 2500 watts. Or are you looking at a previous model? Does the person with the car audio store have a website? If not, ask him for the specifications on your box before he makes it. Someone else here just had a box "professionally made" by a car audio shop and quite frankly, it's a piece of shit. What route are you going for alternator and batteries then for your electrical upgrade? And, jealous of your BL route. I would like to run two of them at somepoint as well.
-
What is this? Do you have a link? Alton speaks wise words. It appears you've already purchased the BL's. Don't be too discouraged; my first car audio set-up that i had any involvement with was a BTL on a SAZ-3000d. Be really careful. Read alot. People around here sometime discourage from "stupid" questions. Don't let that get to you. We can just get sick of them when 4 different people ask the same question in one week. You said you were getting a box built? By whom if you don't mind me asking?
