    Enclosure for 12" BTL

Sealed or ported. What is your source for the "smaller enclosure?" I would think that Fi is gonna recommend what works for their stuff.

    Xcon enclosure recomendations?

For sealed, I was told that 5 cubes would work very well. I read on here somewhere that for ported 7 cubes with 100 sq in of port is ideal.

Will this be a good set up?

I am not familiar with Fi so I can't help you on the options. But with that amount of power. Big 3 for sure. If you are using a stock alternator then it is strongly recommended that you get a second battery.

    tline

Tuning higher will have some pros and cons depending on the sub used. Check out the link I gave below for a better explanation. As far as common chamber I believe that is for multiple subs, if we are thinking of the same thing. Here is a link to the info I am using. It is much simpler to understand than many other sites I had seen. Read this

    tline

The tuning is what ever length you make it according to the sub fs or what ever frequency you decide to use. The sub also should have some certain specs to really sound good in a t-line. If you want, I can post a link to the info I'm using for my upcoming t-line build.

    Btl Vs Xcon ( 12")

That is about 5.9 cu. ft. before factoring in wood thickness and all other whatnot.

    Help tuning amp.

He was talking about the bass boost on the amp. But yeah, that is a last resort thing. The sub level control...I forgot about that ^^^What he said. I already had the sub level at +15. And I would like to get everything out of the amp because I have the BP Power on it. I should have mentioned that before. If the sub level is already at max and still cant get the proper volts then you should probably get a line driver if you dont plan on upgrading you HU anytime soon.

That should work. As far as turning the gain all the way up...that is not a good idea. If you turn you bass boost all the way up then you will just have a one note wonder. You will have to adjust the settings around a bit til you get them right. It sounds like you may want to look into a line driver, it would help a lot. Mess with the settings as long as you get 36, correct? Whats a line driver? Yes, however, you dont have to get to 36 volts as that will be giving more than the rated rms to the sub anyway. 31.6 volts would be about 1000 watts. A line driver hooks up to the rcas between the HU and the amp and boosts up the voltage.

That amp is rated for 1200 watts at 1 ohm. You have a dual 2 ohm sub, that would be wired in parallel to create a 1 ohm load on the amp. For the calculations you use the impedance load that sub will put on the amp which is 1 ohm. That comes out to 34.6 volts. Sundown is probably recommending a tad higher at 36 volts due to the fact that the amp could put out a little over 1200 watts with the proper electrical. Also, follow the recommendations that Duran said earlier. Ohhh, gotchya. Forgot that step. So when I'm at 0 bass, and I can't get the 36 volts, can I turn the bass boost up a tad? Or how would I go about doing that. If everything is set flat then you should be able to get the voltage you are looking for. Even with 2 volt preouts. What is the HU volume at? If you do have to turn up the boost, don't turn it any higher than where it was when you set everything up. When listening to it that is. The headunit volume goes a little over half way. If It gets any louder the factory front speakers will get to loud and start to distort. Aha...that is why. Yes, you will probably need to up the bass boost.

  19. Anybody know what the mounting depth is on a 12" XCON? Can't seem to find it anywhere.

    12" XCON mounting depth?

Oh, same as the ICON. Would it be ok with only 1 inch gap behind the pole vent?

    15" btl vs 18"BTL w/ same RMS???

    15" btl vs 18"BTL w/ same RMS???

A bigger box can be better to a point. It can be too big and it can also be too small. If you are within the recommended range it should be good. If you go to the smaller side of the range it will help the sub be a little more punchy, while on the larger side of the range will give a little more boom. Again, I have no personal experience with Fi so I cant say how much of a difference there will be.

    15" btl vs 18"BTL w/ same RMS???

The box all depends on what sound you want. I have no personal experience with Fi subs but from what I hear their recommended enclosure sizes work very well. Click Here

    15" btl vs 18"BTL w/ same RMS???

Depends on the box. But really? 15" or 18" whats louder? Please ask yourself that question again. I did ask myself that question but since its going to be the same rms maybe the 15" will have an advantage and move more freely since its smaller while the 18" would move slower due to more mass??? the confusing part is not the size of the subs. its that they will be using the same rms. idk thats why im asking. Sorry if I came off like a jerk. There is more cone area with the 18s and you will be giving them good power so 18 will be louder. If you have the room for a the 18s and a proper box to put them in then go that way. If you dont have enough room for to build the right box for the 18s then go 15s.
