This is what a 270XP at full load does to a 4 cylinder camry's eng

How many batteries are you running? And how many runs of power and ground to you have going from front to back? -

Did you ever get the vibration to stop on this car? Because I'm looking for the same alt (270xp) for my 99 accord 4 cyclinder (2.3 liter) but I'm worried after seeing this video. If you got this problem fixed do you have a video on it? -
What size fuse on alt to battery wire?
harveywong posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I have currently a 250 amp fuse on my wire from alt to battery, would upgrading to a 300 amp fuse help or hurt in anyway? Does a bigger fuse give me more amp current to the battery (off a 180 amp alt)? -

Yes, o gauge wire. If i would upgrade to a DC 270xp amp alt then i should up the fuse to a 300 amp? -
Which way is better to keep voltage up?
harveywong posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Currently have 1 run each 1/0 gauge wire on a 180 amp alt with 3 kinetik batteries on the back (running 1 audioque 3500d.1 in the back). My voltage at ilde is dropping to around 12 volts and at 2000 rpm it is dropping to around 12.3 to 12.5 volts when i'm cranking it up for demos. My question is would adding another run or two of 1/0 help keep my voltage up or do i need a bigger alt? -

The Kinetik's are about one year old and the starting battery is a yellow top, probably about 2 years old. Both volt meters reads 12.8 -12.9 in the morning before I start the car. -

The big 3 is done and the wire is made by Stinger. The batteries are grounded in the back along with 1 run of ground from front to back. -

the 3 batteries in the back are the Kinetik 2400. What i did notice because I have 2 volt meter installed one at the battery in the front and the other right before the amp in the back is that when I am cranking the system my volt meter in the front reads about 1 volt higher in the front than the back meter. Does this means that not enough current is getting to the back batteries? Also as soon as i turn down the system my voltage reads the same on both (14.3). -
mounting screws for amp keep coming loose
harveywong posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
My amp is currently mounted on top of my sub box at the moment. How can I keep the screws (drywall) from coming loose or snapping off? What kind of screws or nuts and bolts do you guys recommend? Eventually I will mount the amp somewhere else but for now that's where it will stay. -
I am running an Audioque 3500d.1 to 2 DD3512e d4, if I run both pos and neg wire (with 8 ga.)one direct to each woofer (parallel) will this get me a little more wattage to each woofers? Currently I am running just one pos and neg wire (12 ga.)to the box and the woofer are ran parallel from there.

2 runs from amp to woofers, will I gain more db?

Thanks, save me the time and money. -
Metered with SPL-LAB same song and I got a reading of 160.1 @36 hz in the port and 146 @48 hz in the cabin. Does this sound right for the difference in frequency readings? Or is the deeper bass getting trapped in the trunk? Let me know what you guys think, thanks.

36 hz in port and 48 hz in cabin?

I used a test tone yesterday and it read the same port and cabin. -

I get the higher db reading. I was just wondering about the differences in hz reading but should I get the same hz reading port and cabin if I use a test tone? -

This was at the same volume and at the same part of the song. -
1 run 1/0 ga. vs 2 run1/0 ga.

i am currently running 1 ea.pos and neg 1/0 ga wire from the front to the back, would adding just 1 more pos run help or do i need to add the neg also and keep them even? Can you have more pos than neg? Good or bad? -
higher voltage = higher dbs?
harveywong posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
My voltage is dropping down to 12.4 at high volume this is off an 180 amp alt with three battery in the back (kinetik 2@2400 & 1@1400). The 12.4 is at the amp and my voltage at the front battery drops to about 12.9 & 13. Would i gain any dbs if i upgrade to a bigger alt? I have been thinking about upgrading for awhile now just wanting to know if I'll see any diffference to justifly the upgrade. I am running an audioque 3500d (the old one) @ 1 ohm. -

What do you mean by, how often do I charge the secondary batteries? They were charged before I installed them. -

This is on idle. When i am driving it drops to around 12.8 to 13 at the amp and about 13.4 to 13.5 on the front battery. How about throwing in another battery? Would this help keep my voltage up? I just hate to add more weight to my car. Even at the voltage i have this amp is pretty much at its max, correct? -
My setup is 2 dd3512e sub and port facing the back. The port is in the center between the 2 sub. I seen some setup with 2 12's with subs and port facing back but the port is towards one end of the box and not the center. Is there any benefit to having the port on one end instead on the center, this would be in a trunk setup? Which would be louder?

Center port vs. port on the side?
harveywong replied to harveywong's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
What was the setup before the gain? -
Are these 2 dd3512e pretty much maxed out at 144.5 db? Trunk setup on aq3500d (old one). Is this possible to get them louder?

Did a little fine tuning today and got a 144.7 at the dash and a 145.1 at the kick. This is on music and the car at idle only. -

This is a 99 4dr sedan. Metered was on music but I do remember playing test tones and notice that 50 hz was the loudest so i'll try metering the test tones next.
