Just out of curiosity, any of you fellas located in the NJ, NY, or PA areas? When I say "you" I mean the regulars....
-
ahh I see... Anyway, I think if you really wanted you could strap another SAZ-1200D and bump it as one, I know Sundown has that capability just not sure if the 1200D offers it... If not for 100 beans more you can go for the SAZ-1500D v.2 which is about 300watts more at 1 ohm and call it a day.... Regardless of power handling on the SSD I wouldn't want to ride around with my daily pumping it at full tilt all the time unless you're not a real bass head....

Capacitor Qualms
Shogen replied to Shogen's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I have a curious dog. And I sometimes find things from the top shelf in the closets on the floor... Usually harmless stuff... I probably should just sell this crapacitor to someone who thinks they need it.... -

awesome stuff at that link... and yes I do like this music, listen to it on my stereo setup in the bedroom once in a blue while getting ready to go to work... -

lol.... it sounds like a dance club or restaurant? maybe he is a stripper on the side???

Honestly I think the Sundown SAX-1200D looks like a great buy... If I wasn't such a retard recently, I could've saved for like one more pay check and pick that up instead of the used JL 500/1 off ebay the other day.... Kinda regret it but ehh you live and learn.... I've yet to test out a Sundown but everyone on here swears by it and I am believing the hype right now.... So yes maybe in like 3-4 months time I might be going Sundown and just sell the JL for beans and call it a day.. Oh and btw, that amp is $300 beans and can do some serious damage at 1 ohm loads from the looks of it... I only have a 300watt amp going to my 12" temporary Pioneer setup going right now and it is kinda loud ... Plus the girlfriend complains that it is too loud anyway so I rarely get to bump beat like I used to when I was single... lulz

Enclosure Build for SentraGuy (One 12 Inch FI BL)
Shogen replied to Argent Audio's topic in Argent Audio
<<< .... make sure you don't forget -
As far as I can tell most people are mentioning 300-400watts for the Dcons which is fine for my current amplifier setup. Question is, if I upgrade to a JL 500/1 would it be overkill for the Dcon? I know seeing the full 500watts is probably not going to happen, but I would like to know if the Dcon can handle 500watts daily. Like 4hrs a daily 5 days a week. Also starting looking at the Mach5 IXL subwoofers since I see that as a similar recommendation when people are mentioning the Dcons. Any experince with either subwoofer would be great. I love Image Dynamics but cannot find anyone local(plus I h8 the local guys) who would just simply order through their shop, and I know they don't warranty from online retailers. So that becomes out of my reach Thanks for the help.

That's balls... I didn't want to know who he was...!!!!

Its a Camry.... I think I can fit alot more.. But you're saying not to go bigger so I'm gonna follow that... 2.25 cubes.. Hopefully I get a reply within the day so I can figure it all out...
-
So following the specs on the site, it calls for 2.25 cubes and I am assuming after woofer installation it is downed to just about 2.0 cubes? Is that correct? Right now I am contacting some people to see what pricing I am looking at....
-
we're not trying to steer you wrong. the most common complaints i see from people with sealed boxes is a lack of loudness, and not playing low enough. both problems are easily solved with a ported box. plus its a more efficient design so you wouldnt need to upgrade to the JL 500/1. you see what i did there? i just saved you money by not having to buy the bigger amp. I don't doubt for a minute you guys are suggesting what you know is best... I def will listen to the advice, I still need to get the box from somewhere and unfortunately Khaotik is out of the picture since shipping that box will cost like another 100 beans...lol.. I cannot build my own so I am going to find out full pricing from the guys you fellas recommended a little earlier on. Argent Audio seems to be doing a few in this community... So now that you guys have mind-fckd me into the ported enclosure(lol), I should stick to the optimal or is going a little bigger going to give me some advantages on this one? I just want it to be badass if I am going to do this... I really only wanna do this once, so box sizes are not an issue for me.... I have a Camry trunk and I don't give a shyt about space.. Worst situation, I'll take the box out if I need the room. So, 2.25 cubes is the "optimal" size.... Will making this like 2.75 or 3.0 cubes make this sub more beastly or just sloppy as hell?
-
I get it, fine fine fine.... So ported or die, M5??? No tool or experience.... Space yea... So I guess I cannot do this on my own... Can't build my own... I am not skillful in that manner. ok..... ported again.... ... Guess I'll put this on hold a bit... at least the woofer part....
-
I think you keep telling me to go ported... to be honest it is about money... I am not cheap but anywhere I look its at least 30-40% higher in pricing for the enclosure and when you take into account wiring, woofer, shipping and all that goodness that 30-40% at this time really makes a difference. I have no doubt that whatever sub I buy I will keep a while... so it could later be installed into a ported enclosure when money isn't an issue... I am just addicted to car audio so I need a new setup or I will shoot my old lady .... If I seal the Dcon would a box @ 1.5-.18 cubes harm its sound quality or affect output? When I say quality, I mean how low it can go... When I say output, I mean loudness ....
-
Currently you guys(DC Power) offer 2 models for the 2003 Toyota Camry 4 cyl. variant... Question 1: Are there any other models that have not been applied to your site? Irragi and Ohio have many different version of similar output ranges and I was curious if maybe you offered more? Question 2: I did the comparison of the 2 different models and I was thrown off by something: So why is the output at idle higher on the lower end model? Seems like that model is working closer to max than the other and potentially "not last as long" or "do more work constantly"? Question 3: (might be on your site already) What is the lead time or processing time, for example if I ordered one on Monday? Thanks for your time Kyle. I know I am new to the community, but I know that having a company's involvement with its customers is a great satisfaction and is a reason why I am not considering the other brands.(not knocking them)
-
So did you take those pics underwater? I would like to enjoy your build log, but man o man... the camera phone is not cool...
-
This was on which model? I got confused about which one this referred to.
-
I must say you are very thorough with your responses. I think I would most likely go for the 180amp HP model if anything.. My system might consist of this setup soon: Pioneer BT610U 450/4 v2 for interiors (front stage only) 500/1 v2 for sub or SAX-1200D either Mach5 ixl-12 or SSA Dcon Kinetik HC1800 battery and BIG 3 electrical upgrade soon I currently have a cap but it will be gone once I get the time to remove it.... Have read too many bad stories....

What belt are you running with your HO alt?
Shogen replied to mrbojang's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Had a belt snap on me that was "too" tight, buddy thought he happened to have the right one for my Sentra back in the day. It snapped during installation so I am assuming if you managed to install a belt that is "too" tight then it would snap pretty much on first go around.
