Thanks... I really would like a possible suggestion that actually sounds "decent" by your standards within $200-$300 price range... Like lets say your brother who likes car audio but doesn't go deep and he wanted you to recommend an awesome set that are pretty "all around" sets so to speak.. I know I might be asking for some punishment from you for asking in that manner but it seems what you like and what you think are pieces of "shit" by your standards are worlds apart. So lets make a suggestion?? I don't need accurate reproduction like I would ask of a stereo setup for music/instrumentals/vocals... I just need clarity and volume.... If you could provide 2 or 3 possible sets... or if you already know 1 set that would be a worthwhile purchase for starting audio(front stage) then please point me to the right direction... I really hate doing the vs bull shit threads which I am trying to avoid.. So just giving me a real solid model that would be entertaining for genre between rap, salsa, and some r&b... The word PLEASE be nice comes to mind when you read this ....

So I have yet to decide on speakers.. During this time though, I been thinking about creating a proper space for the speakers to go(whichever I pick)... So I figured this location might do: Thought is to jigsaw that shape out and make an insert in that shape that would mount to the door inner skin. Think of it like a picture frame mold... So it would be a generic rectangle shape and I would create a mount panel for the set of speakers that would mount to that frame I created... Hopefully this wack ass picture will help you visualize my ideas:

But seriously, you as far as Puck! ... I said local and you chimed, although grateful you've offered I think it's a bit far out there for me... Thanks though... I mean, if you are really good at box building maybe you could build me something and ship it not built... Like cut it up since I cannot even do that?? I don't know, I am definitely in need of a better box... Sealed would be best but ported as well... I don't trust the local shops, they tried to charge me $105 for a box made for a shitty Alpine... Was like 1 cube and hella ugly, the circle looked almost oval. lol

I saw your profile pic... it looks like you would... lol

Any takers???

Oh yeah SecondSkin is good from what I've heard/read as well... Possibly gonna order some for the cabin of my Toy Cam soon.. Gotta get a better box first. And then a better amp for the front stage.. But SDS and SecondSkin are both rated highly around the community.

I'm no American....lolz .. That's great to hear... -
So the other day I was messin' a but with my audio equipment... I noticed a very distinct buzzing coming from my front stage amp... realizing this could be a number of issues, I've ruled out the wiring already... I am going to take this time to upgrade my amp from the Kenwood 4ch to a Soundstream 2ch... Was looking into the Sundown 125.2 but for the money the Soundstream has more headroom.... This is the amp... TRA800.2 : Specs are as follows: * OUTPUT (WATTS):RMS @ 4 Ohms: 200x2 * RMS @ 2 Ohms: 400x2 * RMS Bridged @ 4 Ohms: 800 X 1 * T.H.D.: < 0.02% * Frequency Response (Hz): 10 - 50k * SIGNAL TO NOISE RATIO: > 115dB * DAMPING FACTOR: >500 * INPUT SENSITIVITY: 0.15 - 12.0V * CROSSOVER SLOPE: 12dB * CROSSOVER FREQUENCY (HZ): 50 - 5k * DIMENSIONS (INCHES): 10.75x2.6x21.5 * Variable hi pass, band pass, low pass * Variable 18dB bass boost * Double sided glass epoxy SMT circuit board * PWM mosfet power supply * Tri-guard amplifier protection * SMT cooling fan built in * Tri-mode capable * Line output I know there was somebody here running all Soundstream but the Rubicon series... But has anyone had experience with these? Under what conditions? How did they hold up? Any specific usage with this TRA series at all??? Thanks in advanced for all the help fellas...

$250 seemed to be a great mark.... I based that off of the Sundown being $240 and the Soundstream being $250... -

You stunk.... The 125.2 does look promising... Did you order all your Sundown equipment from SSA?? How long does it usually take to ship? -

Right I did see that one... But I haven't seen anywhere stating this map can run @ 2oHms bridged... That is my main thing... I want that flexibility of running 2oHms... -

Oh and the vocals right now are more important to me because even though I am using that baby amp, HOLY SHYT it can pretty much overpower my front stage... I actually have my Pioneer set @ -7 pretty much all the time since I got it and I know the Icon is still nice and stiff... Sooo I don't need on the Icon just yet.... lol -

Yea, I was hoping you would chime in or somebody would comment on those factors.... I don't really need the 200w but 125w I guess would be the least.... unfortunately db-r doesn't seem to have that amp... and when I did see it, it was like 20 beans less which constitutes just buying new... Curious though, if I buy the Sundown straight from SSA, what is the ship time???
