Model number does not signify better battery.... 3400 is I think 65AH .... The 3100 is 117AH I believe... -

Check out THIS thread... Talks about the welding wire and a good place to get it... Also from the HC2400 to HC3800 (biggest Kinetik), there isn't a huge jump in specs... Money thought is over a $100 increase.... -
