    System Preparation

With that sound budget you have great chances.. and if all of your posts are as thorough as your first, I'd say you're ahead of the game.. The mistake alot of us make is to "think" we've thought our ideas well ... And bumps galore ... Good luck man.!! I like the parts picked so far..

    Birch.....

so 13 ply is a default or something you have to look for bass??? Not really 9-13 ply will work Just the numbers of wood/layers But know birch is not as acoustically dense as MDF (hence the weight difference) If you have a lumbar yard locally I would look for Trupan Light or MDF light which is considerably lighter than regular MDF and not as rough on your tools. I remember the thread you had about trupan.. I never looked into it since I had someone build the last enclosure for me... your old thread: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/32156-trupan-light/

    Bahh fail enclosure!

You might not have been able to get the enclosure in the trunk if it was 3 inches longer, did you think of that?

150db from a trunk for a daily driver

Different type of setup. Not too badd. As far as voltage goes it looks like idle which would very well drop that low off a 1 ohm load. I could be wrong but once that pedal is touched I bet it would jump right back up.

    Sealing off trunk from cabin

The great stuff gap filing will work fine, IIRC it is vulnerable to solvents such as gasoline... which means you can clean up any mistakes easily. I take it you never used expanding foam in a can. That chit is far from easy to clean off of unwanted areas. Rubbing gasoline around the interior of a car is a bad idea for numerous reasons. The best method of removal is by friction. Could also use denatured alcohol ... I've used many a can of Great Stuff in my shed, garage and some areas of the house and the best way to get it off something your don't want it on was the alcohol. Obviously if paint is involved you want to be careful about where your spray your Great Stuff.. I had a trick of using very thin plastics sheets and taping off the ends, then spraying the expanding foam into the "bag" I created to not make a permanent connection between the surfaces I was trying to seal. Doesn't always work well depending on the area or shape but it did good between window sills and door frames.
  22. Reason I asked it because of the SSF settings on RF aren't as forgiving is your port tuning is high.. I think they have a ON/OFF type setup on the BDcp models @ 28hz if I remember correctly.. So the box tuning matters greatly in that respect...
