Should see the Xcon kill the gauges in my boat. RPM's fluctuate from 600-1400 and I don't think it's actually happening. The benefits you list are dubious and not real. I would personally shy away from a passive 3 way, in particular if the word budget is used. The mounting considerations to make them work right are stringent and generally can be easily out done with a 2 way.
