Amplifier output testing
///M5 replied to edouble101's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I'd do a repeatability measurement as well. ie, measure power, measure load, measure power, measure load, measure power. That way you'll see how much variance is imparted from the load itself. The more variance the more cycles I'd use to determine the uncertainty. -
Amplifier output testing

2 somewhat major flaws in your testing 1) Significant digits. Reporting 54.72 wrms is not valid. You need to take into account the accuracy of the devices you are testing and reporting beyond their accuracy isn't appropriate IMO. The easiest and most appropriate is to state the uncertainty. ie, 54.72 +/- 5wrms or whatever the overall electronic uncertainty is. 2) You unclipped measurement will vary by a fair amount over what is clipped and what is not, visualization on a cheap scope is not very clear as to when the signal is no longer a pure sine tone. Personally I'd measure THD and test at a consistent level of distortion. There is a reason power is related to THD in other tests although a standardization of the true measurement of distortion would be helpful. -
wtf is manwhich? Brand name of sloppy joe mix. wtf is sloppy joe mix? Hardly ANY ingredients in them in the first place. Comes in a can. It's for po' folk. Seriously?

Huh? Shouldn't hardly be in the plateau in 8 hours. 250 is hotter than I've ever smoked anything though Lean as hell. I put on an 8 lb. brisket that finished in 7 hours @ 250F today. Your thermostat isn't working at 250 you are way hotter.

I did 4 racks of St Louie's today with about 3 lbs of Ribeye Bulgogi You have my phone number. Wtf bro. You don't have kids. We had 10 that were 3 and under here

Stop reading on other forums, it's making you stupid. The bus is bad enough, the rest boo. I had two ideas from reading this, the Mystery Machine was already shared so here's the other: VW Samba. Indeed. Stupid fucking google images link.

If it were for me, gut jah

Not sure what you are referring to. If it was your thread, it was a 23 window VW Bus. Smoke 'em if you got 'em, bum 'em if you don't.

If it's a Euro it should be German. Not by my choice, but if I buy a Swede runner for a Kraut I'll get some funny looks.

I've got a colleague coming over for 6 months. I need to find him a car. Options are rent, rofl and buy something and then re-sell after 6 mo. That being said, he is German. Buying price is not so significant. BP - SP is. Something that makes him feel good as well. Company money, but the more we lose the more egg on my face. Car will be in San Jose, CA. Any thoughts? 4 door sedan or wagon is probably preferred since his family will be visiting much of the time and he has 3 kids.

Help w/ AudioControl DQS
///M5 replied to DreDay256's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
DQS won't help either of your "things" The hiss you hear is either poor wiring or thermal noise on the amp meaning you are gained beyond where you should be. Adding "boost" to that will really be counterproductive. If there aren't frequency anomalies you are addressing you really don't need an EQ. Out of curiosity what else are you using the DQS for? -
My all time favorite small format tweeter. I have a pair in the closet just in case I ever need them again

Crap, I'd like another pair but don't have time to build enclosures/crossovers atm.

I decided to forego the SD card and grab the DNA. Considering the DNA has an SD slot in Japan I am sure it won't be long before someone cracks it apart and adds one. Outside of Samsung who may be big enough to fight Verizon, I would expect that all future phones will not have an Sd slot for them. S3 is probably your last choice. Considering how outdated the screen and processor are compared to the new phones it's hard to swallow. Are you saying the S III is outdated? Big time Asshole! So it's my only decent option, but horribly out of date... And in a few months the G4 will make that even worse as I wouldn't be surprised if Verizon removed the Sd from that as well. They want you to use the cloud. That being said, I normally carry my tablet where I need the storage and being it has 72gb it is more than fine. Still hope someone hacks the DNA so I can too, but I am waiting for it to be done by someone else first.

Funny, I had the opposite reaction. Test drove one thinking that a 250 diesel may be a good pick for me post Benz, but it was UBER slow. Couldn't get out of its own way.
