And what about the deadspot in between? Your key doesn't go from ACC to Key infinitely fast. In reality that is exactly what it is doing now stock. Of course bypassing the rest of the car may make it fast enough so that it works. I was giving the foolproof solution. If cost is truly an issue just build your own delay circuit. Guaranteed that will work. There is no dead spot. OFF-ACC-ON-START They HU works on ACC and ON. It only shuts of at Start. But on ON and Start I have power on the ignition wire. So the only time it won't see power will be on off which is perfect. Last car I tried that on there was a deadspot... If you don't have one then carry on.

Basically take the Ford V8 out of our XC90 and put in a 3.2L inline 6 and you have the car. Ours has been stellar. I did read horror stories on the growing pains of the transition time when Ford bought Volvo in the late 90's and as with any new vehicle platform there are growing pains. Seems by the mid to late 2000's those were taken care of. They do seem to have issues with new technology incoming as well. Conveniently the XC60 was first sold in 2008. Basically the guts haven't changed since. The Hyundai was released 6 months ago. I am hugely opposed to first model year cars. Of course, I get to put out post production fires for a living. Some are shocking...

http://cabotgun.com/...t-grade-pistol/ So much for low cost of ownership. Que? We have an XC90. It's been uber cheap. 60,000 with not a single repair. Curious why you know differently. In a recent (Edmunds I think) report Volvo was listed as having one of the highest cost of ownership (from general maintenance, repair, fuel, and insurance costs) per mile driven over the course of 2 years among all major brands sold in the US. Believe it or not Hyundai was listed as the lowest. Not what I saw when I searched. Average to less cost than average. 10 year old ones not the same, but the past few years they seem cheaper than nearly everything.

Problem with the single relay and switch is if you forget to shut off the switch.

That is where the expense is and what you need. Can build one yourself, but for $11 it isn't worth it IMO.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Relay and a delay circuit will work. Actually I will need two "1 circuit" relays - one will give out 12V when it sees ACC voltage, the other give out 12V when it sees ignition wire voltage. Only one. Power can be run in parallel. Then the ACC will give the igniting wire 12 volt while the car is off. Which is not good. That is the one that you run the relay off of. Input to the relay is either the key on or accessory. Delay circuit in between so the relay stays hot through the cranking. Can get a 4 second delay circuit for $11 from miniDSP if you aren't up for making your own.

With fresh noodles it becomes way better. Also try a dried sausage of some sort instead of the pepperoni. Pepperoni is this blasphemous retardation of something that is naturally awesome. I'm having a hard time processing the concept that pepperoni is NOT awesome. Maybe some time in the future when I grow as a person I can accept these words you typed, but for now I'm just not strong enough... (not that I'm not willing to try fresh noodles and dried sausage instead of pepperoni, because I am) There is a reason we are about the only country in the world that eats pepperoni. It isn't because the pork and the spices that are in it are bad either. Just our chemical lazy way of manufacturing and not being able to deal with a real slow cure. That being said I have seen boutique pepperoni that is made correctly and fuck yeah, it's awesome. All the greazy nasties go away when produced right, the flavors develop further and all around there are no negatives. One hint to a good one. You'll have to cut it yourself and the outside of it won't look savory.

No worries. Your state that you are going to use FT1's which are not horns. That plan is terrible. Get some horns, it'll be plenty loud and sound way better. There is really almost no place in car audio for supertweets. They seriously fit a VERY small niche that includes absurdity at all levels. Do yourself some simple math and calculate the required midrange to keep up and then the midbass. You'll find you rapidly run out of space for the cone area required. And then when you look at the frequency response and what drivers will be required to do this you'll see that it is not possible in a 2 way. Funny since it is so much easier with a horn.

That's where you are wrong. They do everything you want, my reasonings are alittle different. Trust me, people can't believe when I tell them no tweeters are in my truck right now. You need to hear some to understand I've heard them and understand that you guys need to listen to this man. I was surprised myself to hear them keeping up and sounding that good. I plan on doing 4 6.5's in my front and back along with 4 FT1's in each front door. Overkill I know, but I am thinking outside the box. You quoted someone using horns NOT supertweets. Ft1's are stupid without doing a multi-way front stage and if you think differently you have regrettably never heard a good sounding setup. Well, I've also regrettably never said I was copying him. I simply added a statement on what I planned on doing myself after making a statement on how his setup sounded currently. I don't doubt supertweets sound better at all. I am just saying don't say that horns sound like crap because this is what you've "heard" from other people until you hear them yourself. I apologize for any misleading information you may have gotten from that. I personally am not going for the end all SQ system with 4 18"s either though. I can agree that each serve their own purpose and would understand running both at separate times depending on the occasion. Ugh, backwards again. Supertweets = crap in a 2 way Horns = loud as hell and sound good in a 2 way Only purpose supertweets have is to curdle your ears. And no one EVER thought this was a conversation about SQ.
