Predetermined mixes of spices are not spices and should never be used for anything. Your own mix is viable, but if it isn't made fresh the day of use it is pretty much garbage. Forgot how easy it is to rile you up when it comes to seasonings Obviously I "roll my own", just saying that the spice blend in my chili uses (almost) all the same ingredients as store bought chili powder, so technically yes chili powder does belong in chili. Technically. A chili spice blend is not chili powder.

The Love Machine. Exactly what we called my 68

guess what Sean, I ate Hormel Chili yesterday and was happy with it. your just to picky. I bet you have a herb garden in your basement in the winter so you always have the freshest herbs. This is Sean's basement: I'm rich bitch!

When I make it for the fam, I used ground meat but that is so they can have leftovers while I am traveling.
-
I also like my chili fresh which means no ground meat. Steak is where it is at, but then reheating is not so great.

Any and all premixed spice thingee's are ridiculous. Read the ingredients, mix your own. Most whole spices needed to be toasted a bit before use as well and start to fail miserably hours after toasting. If you want to learn how to utilize spices learn to cook Indian food. Even if they use flavors you don't like the techniques are golden.

If you made your own chile powder and used that I am fine, but chili powder no fucking way. I thought you guys were from Texas?

That isn't chili. Chili does NOT have chili powder in it. The rest is somewhat normal though.

We were supposed to get 8-12" on Saturday and got 1/3" Last night I went for a rip and started to overheat since there isn't enough snow in some of the ditches

What conditions? What pre-tests were done on the bearings to make sure they are consistent?I'm going to go ahead and pull a president and throw out that I inherited this situation. Now, bearings are failing in the field from "normal" use. Bearing gets around 300 psi of pressure when engaged (this is the hydraulic pressure of the system to engage the piston, bearing system). Ran 2 production setups in lab with 10 min on 1 min off cycles and lasted around 400 hours. Did the same test for an "upgraded" bearing and the first bearing lasted less than 400 hours. 2nd test is currently in progress. Bearings are thrust needle bearings. If you mean manufacturing consistency then we have some kind of quality control but I couldn't tell what it is (mostly because I don't know). The idea would be to run the production bearings at much higher pressure then back that down and run again. When the new system/bearing gets implemented we run the same test and statistically interpret the normal usage life. Were they tested before? Was the design validated? Have you data on measured loads going into the bearings? I'd be concerned over doing an accelerated test if no one has quantified the forces in operating conditions. You may accelerate the wrong portions. I'd also be very interested in QC on the bearings. If there is none, have you verified that the failing bearings met spec before being installed? Jumping to the let's test the piss out of things, before understanding the background will be an exercise in spinning circles.

Blowing lines probably isn't energizing for working on vehicles.

2volt vs 4volt sub output headunit
///M5 replied to Truconcept's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
There is no benefit and yes you'll have to retune. The only possible benefit is if you have such crappy amps that when you use the gain knob appropriately they have thermal noise. Conveniently on a sub you won't really hear that anyways. -
That's wild. You ever get one of those GoPro helmet cams? I haven't. Still too spendy for limited utility IMO. Do you have one?

Fountek NeoPro5i Professional Ribbon Tweeter
///M5 replied to kylehallstrom's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
That and unless the 57 is new and they are re-using the 98xx it has no processing so you can't run active without adding a proc or changing headunits. -
Did 175mi today. My back is a little tight. Long time to smile, err stand up.

OEM MotorCraft only. They are the only ones that seem to hold up and actually work. Go to any forum and you will see the stories of people who swayed from MotorCraft and how they just ended up spending more in the long run. You'll also find some interesting reads on the "performance" coils. That is so interesting. On 2 of the truck forums I am on they almost all used the globals.I will look more into the "performance" thing. I didn't understand how they could be any better, but I wouldn't have expected them to be worse. Motorcraft plugs are nearly twice the price. So for a set of 8 I'm looking at nearly 400 bucks. Call Tousley Ford in White Bear Lake. I ordered some last year at $37 each. That is like 10 minutes from his house/.
