And of course that isn't completely fair, my ML63 is $662/mo + $53 in insurance. I pretty much can work with the same, but it is supposed to be $650. Sort of trims the choices a bit. I am sure I can probably even negotiate $100 more as I am kicking ass, but that really doesn't help. Open ended private party leases are fine, but fundamentally this means whatever I buy can only depreciate ~$19k in 45k mi and 3 years.

At this point, my ML feels slow. Tell you what. Ryan1 or I will switch you vehicles for a month, then when you get it back, it'll feel like a fricking rocket ship. I can just run the wives for a bit and get the same feeling. Last GL I drove was slower and handled way worse than her car too.
-
I would certainly scratch my head in wonder if you got a Jeep. That is just one brand I don't understand the appeal of. And what is perturbing

And that prices it out of consideration. Have to lease it for $650/mo. Those are $1200.
-
I am not opposed to transplant cars. Also tickled the idea of the Sport Trac Adrenalin or building an Explorer version of it, but the interior is nearly as bad as the TB and harder to improve.
-
Seriously my biggest problem is that everything points to the Jeep and I don't want a fucking Jeep.
-
Sort of like the ML 550. Such a piece of shit it's unbelievable. Actually prefer driving the Escalade which I hated. Mercedes SUV NEEDS AMG.
-
It is slow, it is huge, it is ugly, it drives like serious shit and the AMG version is WAY too much money.
-
3 will be very common. My 2 and whomever comes with. That way I always have a spare.

When I move though, I am buying a 2400lb snowmobile trailer and might load up to 4 600lb sleds into it. That is the real 5k. Of course, with 4 sleds I'll probably be using someone else's truck but I want to be able to.
-
I don't have to tow my boat. I can easily utilize my BIL's F250 Diesel for the two trips a year it takes. The too and from launch IF I need to pull it is 30mph and 3 blocks so even with a 5k rating I am more than fine. In particular again since if you look at the weight of the boat, gas and trailer according to spec it is less than 5k. Dumbfounding

If I didn't feel like the ML would ass rape me I'd get another. EVERYTHING is god awful expensive for it though.
-
That is somewhat the allure of getting a cheaper truck like the TBSS. What the company leases me afterwards could be a Pantera. I'd just keep driving the truck daily.
-
I suppose a Gallardo with snow tires would work
-
If I could drive it in the snow I might.

Until the M5 I hadn't owned a non-Ford Galaxy as a daily driver car for more than a year. I'd almost take a step down to change. Of course, if I really need to do all sorts of shit to make it acceptable it becomes a law of diminishing returns rather rapidly.
-
If I get the TBSS cheap enough the lease will pay for it completely in two years so I can more quickly get another car. If I go mod crazy it'll take three.
-
ML gets my vote. Or a really tuned up escalade. But the ML is still going to be all around better I bet.But I am so bored of my car. I HATE owning daily drivers this long.
-
Then there are the million dollar questions. Would a TBSS with FI be that much quicker and more fun than an SRT8 jeep? If I prefer the way an X6 drives can I live with only the 5.0 or would the X6M make me happier. Can I drive an ugly land barge with a cadillac logo on it? Is a mini-van with a Saab logo and an Olds interior enough to make me vomit. Are any of the above worse than having the same car for another 3 years.
-
If it is just a welder I need, I have one in the family. Liability wise however I'd sort of like to pay someone.
-
oops, added the Saab. I get to sit in one again on Thur, although not the Aero.
-
That can't be cheaper than having a seat base made. I see the upgraded seats as logical anyways as the stock GM ones blow donkey dick.It should be pennies in comparison to having something made.Except I'd be paying someone to do it.
-
Because air bags are more fun.Just bummed that the new Explorer has no V8. Not a fan of the last gen's interior and finding suspension hop ups is a lot more work. Navigator is ugly and I hate the interior. Ultra scared of another GM nightmare which is compounded by the fact if I own one it will have forced induction otherwise they are all way too slow.I love the Navi interior. I don't think you'd fit in the new Explorer. My mother has one and I feel cramped driving it. Seriously? I drove one and thought it fit nice....but wasn't paying too much attention since it was also anemic.

Only real options atm: 2012 Jeep SRT8 - YAY! First year and a Chrysler. BMW X5M - car bores me BMW X6 5.0 - too slow, M too much $$ 2009 Mercedes ML63 - 2 years newer and NO CHANGES. WTF Benz?!@?!@? 2007+ Trailblazer SS - coilovers, sways, brakes, FI, exhaust, aftermarket stereo, M6 seats, upgraded everything mechanical, new steering wheel, perhaps a dash 2009/2010 Escalade - FI, coilovers, sways And I am at my wits end. All those can tow 5k and are within acceptable range of the ML performance wise. The Caddy is a step back, but is bigger for hauling the boat and kiddies around.
