Why is it your nemesis. I am a fat up no foil kind of guy...but I do not buy them trimmed, nor do I guess at when they are done.

Reinhardt play?

And that now makes 100% of us he's pm'd. Usually with questions a third grader could answer. And I've got a night of beers on being able to out eat you.

what I figures, probably means windows 8

Not sure what goal you are going for with that. Do you want a tablet or car pc that you can connect to your phone so that you can still perform hands free calling while driving? I want a better experience than what I have now. GPS and phone. Music processing is easy

I thought you hated bluetooth in cars? I hate shit with poor audio which includes my Benz. Thought if I mounted the mic and did the setup I could get it to work.

///M5 replied to SpeakerBoy's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
It is for a computer setup, EQ's are limitless and free. There is nothing you will be able to do with a box to improve the response anymore than just eq'ing down the rest. Sure you'll gain a tad of efficiency but you stated that wasn't necessary. -
Absolutely not. First off not everyone wants loud. Second, making cone area smaller doesn't at all fit anything you described. yea like i said car audio companies trying to produce smaller while keeping louder output for the small/new car guy with size limits Dumb way of going about that and we all know that isn't the reason. The reason is that there are confused buyers like yourself that think that creating a market for an otherwise somewhat misplaced and mostly useless driver. I am not saying there are no applications for 8's. There is a time and a place for everything, but the reality is that most of these drivers are completely misused in the install they are in providing less than logical results. Some other clarifications. -Weight is an idiotic differentiator. Even if you track your car an extra 5lbs makes no difference. Sure if it is an F1 car, but then audio would be non-existent. -Space limitations are regularly thrown out the window. Designing an 8 for ANYTHING other than a sealed alignment is absolutely retarded. -Having ridiculous power handling is also not a logical goal. Considering doubling power is barely audible designing for power instead of response just goes to show you how idiotic the market is for these sorts of drivers. All of these things equate to what? The reality that most people interested in high power 8's are seriously confused. IMO this is going to be made even worse by the fact that the visual design of this woofer was chosen to be "cool" instead of worrying about performance factors that actually make sense. Of course to defend Phantom, they chose this design because they are sure they can sell it. If that logic makes you want to buy it then by all means hop on the wagon to nowhere. Hard to knock a company for designing what a market requests even if the market is stupid.

Decided I want my full music collection in my next car. I like the convenience of the PC for crossovers as well.

So, if you have a Droid tablet, Ipad, or CarPC as a headunit is there a nice way to bluetooth your phone through the stereo and add a microphone?

A saw fence would be fine for sides, and length, but when I need to cut width in my case 40" it wouldn't do me much good? Unless they make them that long but if they did it would seem kind of hard to control.I've got a tool thread on here somewhere, search for it. Has a nice internet fence system. I don't recall the name although there is one in the garage. Add a $60 Makita saw and a $30 blade and you are GOLDEN.
-
Cheaper to make your own guide, although those sort of guides work well. I'd have a tendency to buy them separate from the saw though.

EXACTLY. Potential for kick ass sound at the same time.

I'm a car guy. I know better. If I'm driving a truck, it's just to do things a truck is supposed to do. If i want performance, I'm driving a car. Camry fo life! An Explorer with the Adrenalin front end a suspension package and boost may be acceptable. Interior surely isn't worse than the TBSS.

Looks fun. I wouldn't mind riding in trees! I would kill for your dunes. I have watched a lot of dune riding vids and it looks like a blast. And this is my back yard. I don't have much interest for dunes. I think I would get tired of it quickly. Sorta akin to having a race car on a TON of flat land vs a track. Or a snowmobile running down an old rail bed. Shoot me now.

I keep waiting for you to highlight a street suspension for the Explorer Ryan.

Because everything you listed is subjective except the towing numbers and the warranty. Guarenteed Sean won't agree with most of these points. My ML doesn't handle very very well btw. Sure as shit the Tundra handles like a turd, only question is if it is fixable without complete custom parts. Looking SPECIFICALLY in the pick up truck market, and stock not after 5k of suspension upgrades, what have you found that handled better? I ask because IMHO its smoother and more nimble than anything Dodge, chevy, or Ford has come out with in years. J I already said I haven't driven one, but am also sure it handles like a turd. The only full size stock truck I've driven that does handle is my Uncles SRT10. It's a dodge and I am sure it'll make the Tundra feel like it handles like crap. I'd also bet the SS Chevy will too, which is sad because it's equally a turd in the handling spectra. Making big behemoths handle is silly, absurd, dumb, and ridiculous. Exactly why I want to do it. Well both are vehicles with speed in mind, not other shit. I hope you do drive one just for shits and giggles. J I won't be driving a Tundra, but may drive the Sequoia.

The way you listen they have the potential to sound great.
