    best sq sub under $300

Absolutely. Sub is nearly irrelevant. Necessary, but ultra frickin' easy in comparison.

    Fi SSD or Fi Q @ 1200w

Absolutely. For your definition of sound better the BL will win. There is no such thing as underpowering. Complete farce. Sad thing is 90% of the people who buy the Q would be WAY better served by the BL. Not that the Q is bad, but you didn't reference any desire for what it excels at.

DLS has never built an optimal crossover and considering you are talking about less than a 1/3 of an octave it really doesn't matter so much. Try it at 5k WITHOUT the tweeter hooked up and then switch to 4k and see if you get any sibilance or anomalies you don't like.

BL >>> Q for you. WAY. I wouldn't rule out the SSA drivers either though.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Try Aimp3, it's made from the same guys that did Winamp. It's much faster compared to when loading a big playlist. And you can save in 5 different playlist file types. Will do. Just as a clarification though. This isn't about loading at all, that is done elsewhere. This is ONLY creating. I want the easiest mechanism to create and edit them

    2 subs at different tuning?

You can surely have it all...if room isn't an issue. Time for a sealed box and some eq to drop what is exaggerated so you have it all.

    And for pricing reference: http://www.head-fi.org/t/596482/the-sub-100-portable-amps-shootout-10-1-amps-compared

If you don't need the processing an audio taper ALPS pot for 4 chn is about $50. Super great sounding for a pot. Spend anymore and I'd get a real pre-amp. Question becomes how badly do you need the headphone output and if so are you willing to pay for that too. Headphone out is junk on the receiver though.

    Bedroom/PC receiver thoughts? Suggestions?

I'd MUCH rather have an older used 2 channel amplifier and even a passive volume knob than any of those receivers for a 2.1 chn 1 input application. Paying for tons of crap you won't use and skimping on what you will.

The mini will, still need an amp for the sub though.I see you posted before I posted. Answer to your question is yes. You'd need the 2.1 plugin.

Should use a dedicated headphone amp for that. Can Y them with a simple toggle.

When you find/make a cool box, make a spare. I need one

Need to make a cool box for the volume control though

Grab a miniDSP with vol control for $110 and a used Adcom 535 of CL for $90 and call it a day. It'll give you any and all processing along with a helluva an amp. Looks better too IMO.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Just curious if any player/viewers have nicer front ends for making lists.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

I am not into dj'ing non-stop at a party or gathering. Not wondering about a player. I use Squeezeplayer embedded in CQC to control music and manage the playlist, just can't generate them there. Has plenty of search functions for albums which is what I personally use, but for instance when sitting outside grilling a playlist is huge. Mine are generally mood related and then I can quickly surf through those to make 'real time' playlist adjustments. Going to redo all my lists to make them both broader and more narrow for focus depending on what I am doing. It's also the only viable way for me to get any semblance of my music collection on anything portable. Compressed mp3 format it is still requiring more than solid state can offer.

Just realized I had about 30 cd's that I haven't listened to more than once and are not ripped. Lol

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

I've been using Winamp, but curious if someone uses a different interface for playlist generation. Once m3u I can grab it and manipulate.
