If I had a $400 budget and could swing a Gcon I would. Can't exactly comment on Rick's since I don't know exactly what was changed.

For the box, sub and amp? Any other ancillary gear you need to fall into the $400?

Best is subjective and so far, cleaner is all that you have given us. Cleaner can be done by eq'ing what you have...

Best no, easiest maybe

Just saying. My dad's has been a serious POS

Yikes. Have it checked out. Mechanical nightmares IMO. My dad has a 2000 and it is the least fun thing to work on I've ever worked on. Little shit breaks on it like crazy as well.

A budget would be way more helpful than a power recommendation...

Active or Passive Cross-over?
///M5 replied to Pradege's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Same situation with the comps. Any particular reason you want to change them? If so, perhaps that can be solved running active. If not, what is the motivation to change? I will give you a hint: for something to sound better there needs to be something that changes, determining what you'd like to change is always the first step in any upgrade. -
Not rough. What if I like it rough?

Only one thing I don't like about it, the .com key that chews up half the keybaord. I am constantly hitting it instead since I am used to the spacebar being there and with the way it searches these days adding .com doesn't matter so much

You are putting ALL of those drivers in a tower? If so that is a recipe for disaster. Anything more than a 2 way will be EXTREMELY hard for you to build a crossover for. Far from trivial. And, no, you can't just buy a crossover and even have mediocre results.

Hmm, what do you mean by smoother?

What makes it the best for you? I am trying to avoid downloading anything, but if there are reasons that would also help me I'd do it instantly. This browser reacts just like a browser would on your PC. After you download it go into setting and turn flash to always on and it makes the experience even better. The browser is lightning fast and doesn't compromise detail to picture. I also downloaded the Dolphin desktop toggle add-on so its easier to switch from mobile to desktop view. I also forgot you can put the browser on your sd card so it didn't take up the room on your phone.Perfect, thanks for the explanation. Unluckily for me that buys me nothing that the pre-installed Chrome doesn't already do, but was hoping that it would!

Without knowing what you want/need to improve it will only make them sound worse, of course the opposite is true as well -

Seems like my m-th regimen will be slacks with good shoes and belt with a polo or button down with no tie. Friday is truly casual friday. Jeans and a t-shirt seems to be par for the course around here. For me it will be jeans, polished boots and again either a button up or polo. I just want to dress as the people above me do or slightly better. As long as I am not the underdressed guy there I thinkI will do fine. The system is a PITA to work but once it's understood how to navigate it, it's not that bad. J You'll do fine no matter how you're dressed, bud. Thanks guys. It's just nerve racking to figure all this shit out again. One style of dress daily fotr so long, then all new rules has been such a change for me. I'm slowly adjusting. J You have no worries because you have us! You are making me worried
