The interior is SO BAD on the 955/957 compared to the 958 though. And yes, I know. I just drove the 2012 S at WB Lincoln and the 2005 S at Maplewood Merc

A little TB upgrade of course. Box is a little small in the CT for it, but it may not be terrible

Sort of want an older one so I can actually put a stereo in something again. 8" mid and a 5.25" sub. Lol. Maybe I can live with that if the depth on the mid is deep enough

Damnit, fucking dealer sold the 2006 CT out from under me. Of course I don't want to buy it, but I do want to compare an older Turbo with a 2011 non-Turbo. Balance the luxury difference with the power back to back. Thinking 2008 thanks to this guy: http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/cayenne/289652-video-wicked-cayenne-turbo-w-bolt-ons-dyno-675-hp-710-tq-hd-1080p-graph.html

So distracted... ...just want to figure out what the frontend will be in my next car. I REALLY don't want a double din unit. Perhaps I'll have an Android & CarPC together, lol

I've been contemplating moving mine upstairs...but I am getting a new work router on Sept 1 so I am waiting. Hoping it has 8 ports as I am shy of wired downstairs if I remove the wireless. 7 wired and up to 10 wireless.

Signal varies with time in a stationary location as well. Hmmm.
-
I'll give it a bit of time it's DDWRT compatible as well, so I may play with that after a while. I got rid of my previous router due to the fact that it would just lose wifi randomly. Would take a hard reset to fix and could last less than 12 hours before going out again. Mine just scrambles the pc's and phones connected to it. Makes you restart them. In particular it hates my Asus laptop. Seriously the worst router I've ever owned.

The usb gps dongles are inaccurate? Nothing wrong with the dongle, but for some reason none of the software expects you to move when you are using a pc. The interface is very 1995. If it weren't I am all in. Timur's Kernel for the older Nexus 7 does nearly everything I want though. The voice commands I haven't yet figured out. Was really looking forward to hitting the "voice" button on my steering wheel and telling it to Nav/Play music/show backup camera/etc - whenever I wanted.
-
Boo. Wanted to do a carpc for the Cayenne if I go that route, but getting good gps on a pc sucks I guess May mean Android front end. I was pretty excited for all the voice commands though and losing them sucks.

My Asus has made me reboot to regain connection 4 times tonight alone. Serious bullshit.

Return it, that is the POS i own. Absolute crap.

Fuck the stand, mine was $15 worth of pine

Of course the Ethos is the same as the Icon & Warden. Duh! Haven't you read the other thread? More seriously. One parameter does make a speaker. Everything does. Sure you can half bake anything, but don't expect even reasonable results if you keep making assumptions like you are.

Ha, but there is no need. I forgot to shut mine off once and 48 hours after start it was still rolling along perfectly.

I was going to make a flu for mine to connect to a smoker box for the other applications though. Of course this is all done for 2 reasons: 1) insulation and 2) capability to perfectly control the draft on your fire. Doesn't hurt that it's design is intrinsically convection as well. You seriously won't believe the moisture difference in your product. It "can" be achieved on a classic smoker, but only with serious effort and fire watching.

This is a day to day smoker, not a food storage assistant. When mine is dialed in the temperature fluctuations over a 20hr "cook" are usually less than 5 degrees. ie, it is more accurate for temperature control than anything on the market. Caveat being I've never tried to hold less than 205F but I have seen others use it as a cold smoker, that is just more difficult. On the searing end, it's insane as well. Due to a poor burping procedure (worth a youtube google, lol) I melted my gasket. Replaced my gasket with a 1750F resistant gasket material. To burn off the chemicals in the gasket I did a burn in on it. Cooker got hot enough to melt the gasket on the edges. Obviously can do the heat side of things well also. So why an Egg? If you EVER want to cook on a charcoal grill it is the best one you can buy and if you ever just want to smoke a rack of ribs for dinner it is the easiest way to control temp and ensure moist great tasting meat. It's only downfall is as a true smoker. If you are smoke nutto then it may not get smoky enough for you. They are so fuel efficient that the ultra smoky will never happen. I will add that I like my smoke and can achieve what I need, but if you are used to your stuff coming out black and strong enough to smell the next day three houses down you are better off with an inefficient smoker so that you can pound some fuel.

Too many people for a large, unless a single pork butt or brisket is enough and all you'll ever do.

Sorry, figured you were a clone of shit stirrer. Fundamentally all subs are designed differently. Normally this is for marketing. The comments in this thread that have me frustrated are: -since they are designed for xxHz they must be the same -since they are both 4" coils they are the same I realize I changed the context of the posts, but not the implication. A coil diameter in general has VERY little to do with the design of the driver. Same with a particular frequency recommendation for a box, it's a car of course it'll be designed for a box that suits cabin gain. Pretty rudimentary, no? Could ask the same question you are asking about the options on the Fi subs. Obviously they change the response as well.

Far from trivial to eq as well. Mike, the rolloff isn't a concern but you may run out of dynamic capability. Most 3's aren't exactly output machines as they have low power ratings and low sensitivities. I don't know your listening habits as you described looking for options and not what/why you wanted to do something. Horns will rape FRs in output, even hefty arrays of FRs. Exactly why starting with needs/desires comes first.

Seriously how idiotic can you guys be? Drinking edub's koolaid, eh? Why limit it to just those two drivers? Sure there is an answer, but when you are asking fishing questions they aren't really worth answering. Take a crack at my last comment instead first. If you don't understand that context you wouldn't get the answers you'll get on this either. So, you are trying to say there is no differentiation in design of ANY decent sub on the market? The only ones that don't fit in your description are either complete pieces of shit or ones with particular applications.
