Then the flip side of me doesn't want a toy but a real tool. I know nothing of saws though other than that I need one and one that works better than my POS.
-
Of course I start looking...see the 660 and it appeals to me. Had the revelation though that perhaps lighter is better. I really want it for pruning and dealing with downed branches. Worst case was yesterday where I took apart all the branches off a tree. I won't do the trunk. My POS Poulan worked until it failed, then my neighbors baby Echo was actually fine (and a huge upgrade to the Poulan) . His Echo was a little 36cc unit with a 14" bar. Felt super light and maneuverable. Makes me wonder if I should look for something smaller than the near 80cc units.

Fireplace logs. Anything else i will hire out.

Got a neighbor that wants the trunk. Going to make lumber. I plan to trade the tree for some boards lol
-
Not going to cut anything larger than firewood. Will hire that out, but you've seeen my house I need to be able to dispatch with bs that falls more readily. .....today I dismembered an 80' tall red oak down to the trunk. Fucking exhausted and my saw sucks.

Matt - I need a chainsaw. What do I buy. My Poulan wild thing can blow me.

Indeed. I forgot to say so before. Would totally love to pay you to do my car.

Shannon Alton? Crap RIP Brother!

I missed the "my" in Mustang. Thought he was referring to me driving a new one. I wouldn't drive anything old in the snow again...but when I was 16 it is what I had.
-
Mine with me and full gas was under 3800lbs...which is about the weight of a new Mustang. The balance and weight over the rear tires was non-existent and the 285's in the rear didn't help either.

I was somewhat close to grabbing a shelby...would have driven it in the winter

It has pockets of not slow...in between gear changes when the motor is at an rpm it finally makes power.

Ha, my first car was a 1968 Galaxie 500 XL with a built 390. Drove that in winter. Lived in Fargo/Moorhead as well which meant that there was little to no salt and lots of slip. Sideways EVERYWHERE!

Easy to make something little feel good...until you are big and sit in it.
-
But it is by far worse in the winter.

That and all FWD cars drive like shit. Hate 'em.

Best car in the snow I ever owned was my 944 Turbo S. KILLS anything else. My M5 was completely fine as well. More sure footed than the big ugly which has AWD and snow tires. FWD is downright idiotic in a snow belt. I have had to shovel out at least 20 cars in my driveway in the winter. ALL of them were FWD. I will not let anyone in my family ever drive a FWD car here.

New Mustang does a killer BMW impression. So much so I would actually prefer to drive one over the equivalent BMW. Of course then the problem of interior pops up. If they got smart and made a 4 door Mustang with the guts of a Lincoln I'd buy one. Obviously Ford thinks I am the only one.

190-195 is just fine, I'd error on the slightly higher temp as the extraction degrades if you get under 190

BMW and V8 early was a monster fail.

A couple years ago, my float leaked in my carb. Crankcase full of gas. Rolled it over, pulled the plugs and then pulled the motor over spitting the gas out the spark plug holes. Shot in some oil, circulated it and then fired it up and went for a rip.

Hell when I was 11 I rolled our row boat and on it my Uncle's 15hp 2 stroke. Pulled the plugs, drained it, dried it, oil it, blew out the lines and started it. Regrettably the drains on the sleds are on the bottom, but nothing that a quick access hole can't make easier to reach.
