Actually it is funny you ask. I have been researching the Kamodo style grills. Honestly the Kamodo Kamodo OTB is what I think I am going to jump on. The BGE has a stout following as it is one of the very first that went mainstream, but it has never changed over the course of it's popularity. The price is still up there and it is basically a non-optioned unit. Kamodo's OTB has seen changes, apparently for the better. The warranty coverage is better, the ceramic is a better insulator, and it has many of the same offerings as the BGE. My understanding is that manual control is easier, and it will maintain longer low temp situations than the BGE because of improved air flow control and better insulation. Take from that what you will, both units are top notch. Obviously each will have it's benefits and drawbacks and the BGE in it's current form has proven to be among the top 2 or 3 units for years now. Isn't the Komodo like $4k? I came close to getting it myself... The big Komodo is, but there is also a large BGE equivalent that is ~$800 Must be new, the OTB was about that when I was shopping. Did they make one without the tiles? Not that I know of, but don't quote me on that. Interesting, I figured with the tiles there was no way they could get the price down. I love the way they look.

Ah, of course, they are mounting it to the electric starter door. Makes sense.

That's nicer than mine....but not $40 nicer. Didn't have that when I bought mine.

Curious to see how it mounts. There is no option for the Viking, but I have a very simple plate that the owner of Rocks made for me for free

    Folded horns?

You do realize that application information determines exactly what makes the most sense. You haven't shared jack shit about what you mean by "DJ'ing". Either way a folded horn is not a good idea at all for what you need....in order to tell you what is though some background is necessary.
  10. Home Theater and music require different boxes. Tuning in the low teens for movies is where you want to be.

It does, but you are still building a fire. To get the temp to settle down you are normally "watching" it for an hour. With a controller you fire and the food goes on as soon as you like. It will also surf. If you ignite too much fuel it'll get hot and then cool off and so on. It is EXTREMELY fuel efficient, but dialing it in and teaching yourself to get there doesn't happen overnight.

Wasn't aware that you had to be old to drive a Benz Can't tell you how many BM'er and Porsche sales people have told me that I am too young for my car. Of course I think, oh, nice fucking sales process moron....although in general I agree on a personal level. That being said, I am not old enough to have kids yet, or a professional job. etc.

In fact, I'd rather have an el cheapo smoker and a controller for low and slow than that without a controller.

Agree, in particular if butts and briskets are desirable. If it is ONLY for ribs and steaks then I'd say that one is fine, just isn't setup as nice for long and low.

Oh, and I'd prefer non-flashy as well. If I could make a trailblazer as quick, quiet, and comfy I'd be all in. Could give a shit less about the outside of the car. I do like a nice interior, but nice to me means well appointed and finished. ie, leather dash and such.

Meh, you wouldn't listen for one thing... and you can afford to fix it. I'd listen, may choose to just gamble once I have the info. Can afford and want to are two completely different things. Of course my luck tends to be the opposite of the norm. I buy a cheap to own vehicle and get raped a German luxo bomb and nothing goes wrong. Hoping my luck stays the same. By 2008 the ghosts that fucked the whole Porsche line were designed out of the Cayenne...but I know the maintenance is interesting beyond that. Popping the hood once shows that, lol. I guess I should also state that I don't like to offer advice on vehicles without a lot of personal hands on as well. Honestly, the Cayenne is one of very few vehicles I have never had my hands on. I personally like them, appointments, power, and appearance... I do find the interior a bit loud for my tastes as I am definitely more of a low key design guy (personally I didn't care for the 2 tone seats in my GN if that is an indication of my tastes, and that is not radical by any means), but the exterior has a nice subdued look. I have honestly found that the online bitching about vehicles is exaggerated by just a few owners unhappy with their vehicles, so I take that with a grain of salt. No matter the case I always appreciate your input. For me, I look for as many reasons as possible to talk me out of something. That way when I finally make a decision I don't get remorse. Ending up with a surprise non-calculated $1500 repair always creates a feeling of remorse, but shit obviously happens.
