    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Matt & Ryan have seen my yard. I need more than a butter knife.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Although a local closeout place here just threw up some 40cc Echo's for $150. Don't think I can say no to that.

    8 inch subwoofer(s)

How about a pair of 10's downfiring?
  4. ///M5

What subs and amp to get?

You need to measure the exact box and space you have before shopping. Until then we can't help.

    8 inch subwoofer(s)

You have a 30x15 side. Put the driver facing that way. In general 8's are lackluster, always size up when you can.
  6. Bass boost should have never been put on any amp. -how do you know it is clipping? -why are you using the bass boost? -how did you set your gains? 10 o'clock is NOT a setting...

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Visited a stihl, husqvarna and echo dealer today. Nonpro models from stihl and husky are not impressive

    8 inch subwoofer(s)

    Single ported 12 fits better.

What subs and amp to get?

Box size first, then sub size. NEVER the other way around.

    Can't say I see a 2014 F250 on their website

Going to any forum it is easy to come to that conclusion. In Husqvarna vs Stihl vs Echo vs Dolmar threads within 5 posts an answer is always, "go with the best dealer". This implies you will need service. I am fine with servicing, but not okay with needing someone else to do the service. Same on the snowmobile.

This is the hop...so I have to discuss potential purchases. And yes, I've wasted more time in $ than it would have cost to buy the more expensive one...but that is also how I roll. Capt'n overboard!

It isn't weird. Those guys need it to run in any condition for the 2 years the saw exists before they destroy it. I need mine to run 1-3x a year for 20 years. Completely different need. Just like I don't trust German cars with all their electrical nonsense, I don't trust anything with extra crap like this. My snowmobile is the same. Simple carbureted beast that wallops on computer controlled fuel injected ones.

It is auto adjusting on timing and fuel delivery which are the "traditional" things you would change. It supposedly does a really good job at it though so you shouldn't need to. If I were 100% certain the technology would always work and never need fixing it is compelling.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Pretty sure I can with the electronic ones too...but in the case they complicate shit I don't want to bang my head against the wall anymore than I have to.
  24. ///M5

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Exactly why I want a simple carb'd one too. It will sit full of gas for a year and be used 3x. Terrible on 2 strokes so I want to be able to easily clean it.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

I want a big one too...but 99.9% of what I do is cut up stuff that I can sometimes just break by stomping on it while one end is up on a rock. Yes a handsaw would be fine...but I LOVE the smell of snowmobile oil so I will use a chainsaw for that shit.
