Of course I still want it to handle, lol

Back to stock weight is funny on a 6000lb truck
-
Now you are just $2500 under an Iron block. I know it is 80lbs heavier, but making it boost proof is a good idea. I may claim to be okay with not cranking the boost now but I always get bored of my cars.

Check out Thompson Motorsports for an LQ9 shortblock. No need for the longblock unless you want to swap in LS3 cylinder heads for higher compression, but on a FI (forced induction) engine your wouldn't want that.Just send it to WoodHouse and let Mark work his magic. Just think of it as money. You can always make more.forgot the LQ9 is a Gen 3 engine and he needs Gen 4. The L92 block is a great foundation. Keeping the weight about the same though you could go with the LS3 aluminum block and after supercharger and everything it would damn near put the front end weight back to stock.Confused. The L92 and LS3 are almost the same where does the weight come from?

Not opposed to someone else building it though, just can't make it much worse than if I do my own general contracting.

I'd make it at home more often then.

What one would you suggest as the best?Best for what? ...and I don't mean sushi, that I know.It is why I asked some other questions. Most people who haven't eaten a lot of sushi don't like the things that I may like, I want to make sure to send you to a logical choice noting your likes.I'm not a big fan of sushi rolls, but I would love some squid, eel, tuna, and other general cuts.Ok, one more question. Classic Japanese or big portion for the $

Any reason you picked only those two to pick from. Seems arbitrary to me atm.

Probably very unnecessarily as well

You can't send me to look at this: http://www.thompsonmotorsports.net/product_info.php?cPath=26_41_42_44&products_id=15 When I thought I was looking at a truck with this: http://www.thompsonmotorsports.net/product_info.php?cPath=26_41_42_44&products_id=71 With all the effort to do the swap, I'd have a hard time not paying the extra $3500

You didn't give us any choices.

Line Driver help from you guys

Personally I wouldn't use one of those. And yes, the I-outputs are lame. Just as a reference though, there is absolutely no need for a 5v deck.- 22 replies

Local fish monger should have better. Some of the legs I get locally are beyond anything I have ever seen.As far as I know the ones labeled Bristol are the only ones that can guarantee cooked on the boat and NEVER thawed. On average legs in the marketplace have been thawed at least 3x with some as many as 10x. Pretty sure I read the Costco ones are 4. They are still good, but not nearly as sweet and yummy as the ones that are treated right.

Not my budget, this is my "free" work car. I just want to maximize my enjoyment.

I didn't see anything in there where it even mentioned what rods/pistons/crank are in it. Considering they were proud to mention ARP bolts I figured they would surely have listed what rods and pistons were in it if they were.I think that was the receipt, but cropped off on pricing. Figured that since the guy paid for a custom grill, updated lights, forged wheels that he would have at least put in a complete forged rotating assembly. Pretty bummed it isn't what it looked to be.

That makes the deal no longer a deal though. No, but there are a ton of them for sale for $30k or so with 50k'ish miles. If a fresh motor and FI were comparable on one of those it wouldn't be a deal, but I would feel better about my own spec as a daily driver.

Year, 4wd/2wd and motor? I'll give you Alldata, Motor, and Mitchel book times. 2007-2009 most likely 2008. 4wd. L92/6.2L

The Oven on a baking sheet with boiling water added and covered with foil.

I didn't see anything in there where it even mentioned what rods/pistons/crank are in it. It specs the size of piston which when googled leads you to a Mahle forged piece, but no guarantee there.
-
Any idea on the time it would take if I paid someone to swap long blocks on an Escalade? Going to price out building one.
-
Indeed, could have at least done the crank and rods. My concern is that he built it to drive for 30k miles and sell it. Seems possible. 575 at the wheels ought to feel nice no matter the lag.

Only is they are boiled in crab boil. None of that steamed shit down here.If you had bigger crabs....

No, but it is a downer when you read an add and except a bombproof truck only to find out the previous owner was human as well.
