    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Also means I do NOT have time to do it. Anything that is more than 4-8hrs at a pop gets tough when I have to double it for being a n00b

Short, was distracted lol. 4wd for sure to minnesnowta Small block? Or did you mean short block? Year and drivetrain info would help. not sure I have ever seen a 2wd Escalade, but I never saw a 2 door Grand Cherokee until last Wednesday. Year? I'll assume a 2010. Short block is around 23.5 hours, long blocks are around 20.5, and complete assembly with transfer of parts is about 15.5. Most shops will tack on a couple hours for clean up and incidentals. Labor estimates (less additional issues that may arise) would be $2270, $2005, and $1560 respectively. Awesome, thanks. Gives me a really good idea of what I'd need to do to make it an upgrade over what I had.

I avoid the news period and usually read it. If I had to watch it'd be Fox

Is there any other channels for news? lol Yep, I will admit. We are a Fox news home, my wife has Oreily on every night at 11 if we arent watching shows. I was implying that watching the women was the idea

Any estimate what you'd charge labor wise to swap a small block in an Esky?
  9. Lord is Apple stuff ridiculously expensiveI agree that Apple products are expensive but justified. The Pure I-20 is a iPhone/iPod dock with built-in DAC including coaxial, optical, RCA and video output connections for $90 shipped through Amazon. IMO that isn't expensive. You could connect any Apple audio/video device to it with an optional cable. Also there is the Bluetooth option with the 6to8. I haven't researched the playback quality going this route. A $3 cable and any generic USB audio device with an Android does the same. Just shocked that they need $90 to create a digital signal from a digital signal.

Crap compared to everything else you are looking at. Some part of the economic reality of the difference between raw drivers and non has you confused. Look up the price of the Alpine F1 set and then the raw drivers that make it up, maybe that will help you understand.

  15. "Possible" sure. Personally I would always want a volume control or mute in between the device and the amp. I don't fucking trust digital stuff and in particular apple things to do what I want them to.

My problem is I've got the customization itch and I am so slow at it that I don't want to be hogtied by a lease term in getting it done and back.

I called my boss to see if getting an older car that would be "mine" at the end of the lease would be okay and he raised my lease allowance by $75/mo and then said yes. LOL.

As for cheaper options. Vifa XT25, Usher 9950, Dayton RS28, Morel MDT 29/30 are all units I've played with that could be fine in your application. All are a bit rough off axis to varying degrees though so mounting considerations are necessary.

Lol. Thanks Sean. I'm always willing to spend less. The performance matters to me. I might even glass the pillars. I have a fiberglass guy. If I were to move them to the A pillars, is there a less expensive option? Or better option?Better is relative and tweeters are personal. Last time I bought tweeters I think I bought 8 different ones and listened to them. There is some logic in seeing what is used and desirable enough to resell. Buy those and figure out what you like or don't like about them. If there is nothing you don't like then keep them.
