Cell Phone suggestions
///M5 replied to Aaron Clinton's topic in Computers / Electronics / Music / Games
Some time this week I will have time to check out the new Huawei. Played with the last generation and really like it. -
I tried texting you taunting pictures from the restaurant last night...but it failed.
-
Sorry for the budget. Those are off axis btw. Anything not on, is off...and those are really off. Super funny when that works.
-
And the other way I relieve my self disgust is eating. Just got to Strasbourg France. Going to a Michelin star dinner to relax.
-
Hello from Amsterdam btw.
-
Congrats Neal!

Part of the reason I sent a big ass pile of stuff to J. Let him try it all out before sending it back

I'd rather run the 15...but your space is your space. That being said, I'd determine exactly what that space is and then shop. Until you know that it is hard to really help.

Cell Phone suggestions
///M5 replied to Aaron Clinton's topic in Computers / Electronics / Music / Games
Interesting, I find CarPlay really annoying compared to Android Auto. As for recommendations, not sure yet myself but I expect to buy around Black Friday. Plan to look at LG G7, Pixel 3, OnePlus 6T, Samsung Note 9, Huawei P20 Pro. Scared of the longevity on the P20, really hate the Samsung bloat ware, which narrows that down perhaps. Pocket and hand feel weigh heavily for me. -

How shallow can an inverted Sub Enclosure depth be?
///M5 replied to JJBESTARECOGNIZE6FO's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
It is not ideal, but also not that big of a deal. The acoustic resonance of the 4" space is not in the frequencies you will be playing your sub at. -

Thanks. Was a bad relay, but didn't sound like a normal relay going bad. Aargh. -
What caused you to go there?
-
You can't just blindly do this. You need to use your senses and TRY really hard to listen to anything that sounds distorted. Listen to EACH driver independently as well. Super hard to hear your mids distorting if your bass is redlined.

powerus amps?
///M5 replied to Idonthalfohm's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I know what you meant, still useless. No need for that much pre-amp voltage. Not going to get thermal noise with WAY less. -
For that amount of dough I'd buy something made by SSA. There are sweet spots for SQ, but the HDX I don't think will fill that.
-
Love the work so far...but am unsure how you determined the port length before measuring the overall volume. It isn't something that you can approximate...

powerus amps?
///M5 replied to Idonthalfohm's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Which would be HORRIBLY useless. As for where, not sure. -
Drive my sisters Trackhawk. It would actually be a reasonable replacement for the big ugly. $99.5k for a Jeep tho....fuck

Opinions of quality Amplifiers in regards to producing TRUE rated power while on a budget
///M5 replied to Tidbit96's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Clipping lights dont work. Worrying about output is silly. 1200 or 1500 you won't hear ANY difference -

Should ask what amp won't crap on you like your last one did. Jcarter gave you one option. In general your list is lackluster. Definitely run from the Skarbage. -
Well recorded music that you know well and well recorded music you dont know well. Tones are silly.

Looks like MECP

So my stainless would then wipe down more easily afterwards? If so...I WANT.

The smd is the biggest waste of money you could possible have. First step is to teach yourself what distortion sounds like. Pretty sure you are used to liking it. Have to get beyond that first and then it is rather simple to set the gains. Just put them in a spot where they don't distort.
