I want to hear you play. Next time I come over. I'll bring the masters bourbon, and some tobacco! ;-) NO. Next time we should have snow and we go for a rip. Realize what I can play now is theory, not songs. 20 years ago is a long time to remember anything, lol. Might go grab this as an interim solution: http://www.musicgoroundroseville.com/p/254741/used-jackson-pro-soloist-sl2-electric-guitar-transparent-red-burst It is setup right...although it is Indonesian so I will need to spend some time with the neck to make sure it doesn't suffer from fret buzz like so many low action guitars (including the Jacksons) do. Make the snow come and I'll find a way to get a day off..... Maybe lol. Last time I had the whole weekend and we got fucked with no lube on the snow category. Weekends are fucked for me, I'd need to pull a mid week vacation day. Yeah. I'm off Monday and Tuesday usually. :-) I miss hanging out little fella. Likewise. Life is going FAST.

Sounds like maybe you need to go to a factory and design your own axe. J Na, I'll shop for used ones and rotate. Too many other suckers willing to pay $6k for a guitar that I can buy a year later for $2k. I know it means I'll have to flip a bunch but that is okay. When I find a cherry like my '56 I'll keep it.

If you can't see cone excursion and port velocity it is useless. -

New last years that can be had for $850 in town....but that one suffered from fret buzz even after truss rod adjustments Hoping the used unit doesn't.

You'll learn A LOT more if you model first then build. Then remodel and rebuild. Eventually you won't need the iteration. -

Summer 2016 is the plan. Before CPO runs out would sell/trade better right? Then will what you have last until then? Spending $2k for slightly better traction might not be the way I'd spend my money, but I'm ahem a bit....

Stopped by Capitol Guitars at lunch. Was funny. Largest Jackson dealer in the midwest by far. The idiots that stop in are horrible though. They found it funny that I played guitars for an hour and never wanted to plug in. Told the owner that I am interested in the action and feel and the sound will follow the pickups and amp. Sure wood changes the tone even on an electric, but more important is the comfort. Regrettably I don't like my dream guitar. What I thought it was going to be good for it wasn't. Randy designed it to play sitting down in a classical position (which I am by far the most comfortable in) but he was a little imp of a guy and not the jolly green giant. Needless to say it was too small for me. I guess I get to get a boring Soloist instead Got some glowing reviews on my sloppy fingerings. Said I played better than 95% of their clients. Amazing since until last week it has been 20 years since I've held an axe.

Mitch knows less than you think, otherwise you'd know more now. Stop defending your illogical behavior. -

So when you built your Mustang did you approximate the grind on your cam? Seriously, the analogy is even a little weak since the mathematics behind a subwoofer are very simple and on a cam rather complex. -

How does an engine builder know that a cam overlap of 90deg won't work if he's never tried it? Exactly why I recommended that you start learning instead of trying. It is really rather simple. -

Your posts say that you don't. VERY clearly. -

Trevor didn't say it, but I will. You are showing ignorance in every post by defending what you are doing. A rudimentary understanding of acoustics and speakers would go a long way in helping you. We all start somewhere and think we know more than we do at some point, the hard part is turning the corner backwards and realizing it isn't enough. This has NOTHING to do with being artistic. You can make an enclosure look however you want, but don't do it with the inside volume that determines the enclosure itself nor the port. Arbitrarily making a port longer COMPLETELY changes the box behavior. Personally when I change a box arbitrary is the last thing I am looking for. -
And yes, I am listening to Gillis now...but not with Night Ranger

I really wish youtube would up their audio quality

Or a few minutes of it anyways

Okay, I'll listen to this tomorrow. Lol

I am not interested in something that is all produced, really just want uncut recording. Stupid normal people don't like solos in their pop

Seems like I can buy tracks off the 1988 japanese live album but not the album.

Abstract topic #2. I know what notes I can sing, but any idea how I can find songs that are recorded in my natural register? With all my travels to Asia I'd like some Karaoke material and it'd be even better if I liked the song enough to play the guitar part as well. Way more fun to randomly hop on stage when you sing as well.

He had the best sounding Strat ever. Of course he basically built it himself out of parts. His solo's on that album are untouchable for me right now. Once I get my chops back we'll see. No way I'll ever be that musical, but I'll have fun trying.

Only briefly. He played on Ozzy's joke album, Speak of the Devil. Too bad that joke ended up being their best album by FAR. Was supposed to be Randy and only recorded after his death due to a contract, but it is a must own if you like Ozzy at all IMO.
