Would the Pioneer TS-WX70DA be a better solution than an under-seat subwoofer?
///M5 replied to Xrc6's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
$180 and small space doesn't leave you much if you have everything else. Aren't going to gain anything from that sub though. If you do, a beefier midbass is still where I'd put the money. Those are pretty pointless. -
And yes the caddy needs nem love

The dirt looking shit around the gps is shoegoo sealing up the seam so water doesn't get in. Here is a teaser. Will pull it outside next week and take better pictures.

Just realized I suck at pictures. In CA, but here is a preliminary shot of the dash. THANK YOU again!!

My laptop dac isn't special...but both are better than the LG was. The LG was louder tho

Matt - haven't bought a new dongle. Google 2 is what I have as it came with the Pixel 3. Compared to the built in one in my laptop it is definitely noticeably quieter...but playing louder than it can causes the hardwired output to over drive the signal. The noise floor is also significantly lower on the google adapter. It has a bit more roll off on the top end, but not monstrously. I prefer the dongle to the built in. ...of course you made me listen and now both sound flat, lol. Time to shop for a real solution. The Apple dongle seems to be the sub $10 deal, but the output is limited thanks to the EU 85dB requirement that can be over ridden on an Apple but I haven't found a way to do that on the Pixel yet....but haven't looked either. Since I am in my hotel room thought hell I would do some A/B. Tried from Classical, Blues, Jazz to Jamiquai then tried Pandora to see if compressed garbage was way worse. In general I don't have a dynamic problem with the output....not super loud, but more than enough to power the Alclairs.

Dang. I will be in Paris...can't fly down.

OMG, you aren't kidding. Sorry dude

Woah. Barely made my plane. Few too many margaritas.

Something wrong with me....but i would way rather be in MN. Had a great swim today. Soccer practice and a Mexican meal in Spanish with the boys. I am so lost, they can speak so far over my head.

Not staying at the beach this time. Chose a bed and better hot tub so I can work more instead of the view.

Depends on what all else you have. $180 buys a lot of great install goodies. -

Same money on upping the midbass ante will reap you way better rewards. -

So Pioneer is defying the laws of Physics? More aptly they are marketing things inappropriately to convince uneducated buyers that what they are offering is logical. It isn't. For where it will do well you don't need a big enclosure in the back of your car. You are trying hard to hope it will work, it won't. The average buyer on Amazon is already more brainwashed into happiness because they spent money than you are shopping. If you knew the education and history of those reviewers you'd scoff as well. If a real response is important to you, spend it on setting up your midbass well and you will be way ahead of that nonsense. -
I know a few good photographers

I'd still run. If you can't build or design an enclosure that works not sure why you expect that this one will. It won't. 4" thick tells a story. No way there is enough volume there to make it worth while. I would instead put the funds into monster midbasses and forego a sub if that were the only choice.
