Time to order an alternator then, the rest has been done!

Do they fail in those applications? My buddy who is mechanic yesterday said he wasn't surprised as he see's a shitload of GM ones at about 100k. I would have preventatively done it had I realized. In general though I am rather familiar with the suppliers as they are all our customers.

And if course not 2 weeks ago did I completely flush my cooking system. Yay for doing things 2x.

the Big Ugly got towed today. Yay!! GM. Water pump took a dump.

I paid $180 for my PPI. i think this minidsp unit is the equivalent of the ppi deq rather than the dsp-88r. There's not enough difference between any of them to justify more than a $20 price difference. Still too much IMO. I'm looking to buy some new dsp's I think. in between cars I had my minidsp's in a box and my dad accidentally damaged them, at least that's my current theory. I'm still diagnosing the problem but it sounds like I'm overloading the inputs with my behringer uca222 (im hearing some static and popping) but changing the jumper didn't help. bypassing the dsp and going directly to the amp fixes the issue. But there is also some dependency on air temp which is making me second guess everything. I don't think my Behringer overloads the inputs on the minidsp's in my truck. I also may have never turned it up all the way though either... Very possible my gains are hot enough to melt the fuck out of anything but I am not concerned as I don't run it hard pretty much ever.

The port noise in that box would drive me batshit crazy... If the amp never gets hot you could just gamble on it... -
HELP PLZ 8" woofer choice for existing enclosure
///M5 replied to mkellypc's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
To keep it ported you'll need to add an external port. If ID recommends a 2" port they should be shot. Absolutely absurd. If you are happy with the sound then just get a different amp. It will be cheaper in the long run. Sell what you have and go for it. I will also add that in general ported 8's are not logical in single units. I built an enclosure with a large enough port for a single 8 and took pictures to show the point. Regrettably this was about 8 years ago and I can't find the pics online anymore. Either way, that 8 ported took more space than my 12" sealed and had way less output. -
Add to that amplifier crossovers are pretty useless for an active setup in general anyways and it is a recipe for disaster.
-
Expand a little? Need sharper rolloffs? A processor is not only a crossover. To gain efficiency you generally fuck up everything else.

HELP PLZ 8" woofer choice for existing enclosure

HOLY port noise. I'd turn that box into a sealed an remove some air space to shrink it. Even at 50w you are going to have a noisy ass port. Then just grab an 8" that is geared towards a sealed box. Do you have depth concerns? Also is the ID dead? If not, why not just use it. Changing woofers won't gain you anything.... -
Pro audio and amplifier crossovers don't match, need a processor.
-
Like shit. If you do separate drivers, buy an active crossover. If you don't buy an active proc just use some components.

I just use 2 miniDSP's

Samsung interface sucks IMO as well. I also bought an S6, traded it for an LG G4. The Apple phone sucks worse than the Samsung IMO though.

Me neither and I know a shit ton of people that have them.

6-piston brakes on the rear? dang, that's a lot of brake.... TBH, Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) have the biggest I've seen and they stick to 6-piston front / 4-piston rear. These dwarf those. They better for $4k
