Got stuck in a bondage moment

I'll take it for you

Ok, so it isn't my uncle but it is the first thing I would do with a $100k car...

Happy B-day, have a good time, eh.

what do you think of this crossover?
///M5 replied to flakko's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I read somewhere that someone thought the Lanzar's were noisy, but I really don't have any experience with them. I probably got that off DIYMA or ECA as I wouldn't bother to remember it if it didn't come from here or those two places. Don't you have "something" in your HU? If not, maybe a new HU is in order instead anyway. And no, it won't take longer to run a new RCA than to install an electronic crossover near your amps. -
Single Cabinet and Dual RL-p 15's for Home Theater
///M5 replied to mfishmike's topic in SoundSplinter
Wouldn't buy a fan at Frye's (usually cheap = loud) and I agree that it would only be a temp solution, but I am in awe over how quiet my cpu is now. I used to shut it off to watch tv and only listen to music on the my AKG's, but now it is a jukebox in the same room as my stereo and pretty much in the noise floor of the room. Probably would have the same effect on your QSC's, but indeed something better for your drivers will make you happier. Oh, and you gotta love that Mike himself wants to hear your impressions! Sweet. -
Sounds like a relay or circuit breaker heating up. I had that problem (sort of) in my Lincoln Mark VIII. Had nothing to do with the stereo though, but the analogy is good here so. I would be driving at night with the headlights on for an hour or so, all of sudden my headlights would shut off (oh chit) and stay off for a while, come on half-bright and act weird. I would shut off the car and wait a bit and then it would be fine for a period of time again. It did go faster to the oh chit condition if my brights were on. In this case is was pretty easy to find, I yanked the dash and my headlight switch was partly melted, but in the Lincoln it is a breaker and not a fuse so it kept resetting itself. Sounds to me like you have something faulty that you are overloading with high loads. I would test the regulator, and also your grounds (I ran into a similar problem in my 328i due to my subs shaking a not so tightened battery terminal loose) as if they have a slightly loose connection it will also get worse underload, and lastly straight up check the alt anything electrical can go out in a weird way. Either way it sounds like an FM problem (fugkin magic) but my real guess is a ground connection someplace, hopefully for you right at the battery. Good luck and let us know what you find.

Jmac, Don't worry about it. Don't go in until you are next scheduled. You have a precedence and request, it is polite to call but if they don't answer don't sweat the small stuff you will be fine. If it were here I would know why they didn't answer the phone, everyone in Minny is got that first snow driving bs all over the place. Don't understand though, I went out for coffee this AM in my M (still wearing Z zummer tires) and didn't have too many problems. Actually had a lot of fun, but stopping is not what I would call easy with those tires. Guess I need to look for some sno-shoes online today. Outta be fun finding them in a 245(or235)/50/17

Yep, I don't trust anyone to work on my car. Certified or not, pretty much suicide to bring my car in and ask for anything to be done. There is a local race shop I might let do my clutch, but other than that I am not taking my car anywhere. Those F'ers will do more damage in the test drive than they will fix I am sure.

It won't help unless your box is too small. However, if you have two 12's and two 15's in the same box you have other much more serious problems.

Oh, and the window sticker in my car says 11 city 20 hwy; premium only. Your neon will be similar when your done NR, and you have to buy Canadian gas. I suppose yours is in 100L/km or some crap? When gas was bad I filled the truck up (dual tanks) and my bass boat (dual tanks) for a total of 78 gallons at $3.0x a gallon. That f'in hurt. Hardly used the boat this summer because of it. No wot that's for sure--Booo!

Front stage install: SEAS W18 and F1 status tweet
///M5 replied to ///M5's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
After a slight relaxation period, I am back at it. Tweeter pods here, only need one more touch up with the bondo/sanding routine and then I am covering them in vinyl. Now I am just waiting for my crossover to arrive--perhaps an amp rack since I am adding two more components as well but we shall see. -
Painting an amp

Anodizing won't hurt either, might cost more than the Profile though. I polished an already anodized (chit brown) chassis for an R/C car. Stripped off the anodizing with Oven Off and some heat, a little sanding (ok a lot) and then off to the buffing wheel with some tripoli and shined her up -
You weren't here before.

Wow, EAC/FlAC'ing project is taking forever. On 40 only about 960 to go.

Well if it wasn't under pressure I would agree.
