  1. I don't think I'd do anything without listening to them as is. You are actually in the range as the sub will take more than .1cuft. You will probably like the bigger enclosure.

In non-metal small format tweets that are good off axis I'd look at: LPG 25nfa -- in your case they will need to be crossed at around 3k and the Mli's a little lower so you will have some underlap but it could work out really well Seas Neo (H1396/1397--I forget which is metal and don't want to look) -- known to be an amazing budget performer. This one I haven't heard, but have heard a plethora of good reviews from some people whom I trust Alpine F1, Scan D2904/6000 -- way out of your budget, but if you find a used set if it were me I'd get 'em. If you do and don't like them, I will buy them from you. You could also maybe find a set of Seas Lotus tweets used. I think Solen also sells the Max Fidelity MFDT30Neo which should work well crossed at 2.5k and should also sound good. This is another tweeter I haven't heard. Hope that helps. If it were me and I had to pull the trigger right now and definitely had to be small format, in your budget, and reasonable off axis I wouldn't hesitate to grab the Seas Neo. Good luck. Let us know what you decide.
  10. Thanks for the insight Neil. I will gladly fatten up the bottom end which was my concern from the model in the first place. The port will be external as I have to fit it through the ski hole eventually, by your comments are you saying my port too small? I could use a round flared one, but with the length it is modeling to a labyrinth will be the easiest to implement. On the same note, I could surely use more than 3/4" on the end of the port so that I can round it over more. As to your caveat, before I build the first attempt I will post measurements of my in vehicle response as well. I will be out of town for the next three weeks, but when I return the project will get put on the fast track.
  11. My woman saw the dust collection feature in a Festool demo at a tool trade show (not only did she go, she had fun!) and said I should get one. Of course, the price tag changed her mind but it made it easy for me to drop some money on a nice router while there.

  16. I definitely plan to measure first, adjust the plan and then build. Once built I will measure the box both inside and outside the car and post results. I actually just put the battery back in the car about an hour ago. Bummed I can't use the snowmobiles anymore, but happy to drive my baby again. I need about 10 more degrees so I can put a fresh coat of wax on her.

I'm awaiting your cabin response measurements. I am analyzer less for another two weeks, and then I'll start. Was going to do it with my PC, but my M-audio card is acting up. Boo.
  18. That would be the plan; I will probably use the True sub that sits in my living room and a spectrum analyzer. As for the deathbox, this is more of an exercise to learn than a "for sure" it is staying in my car.
  19. According to the local dealer here, only the venerable 9255 will do what you ask; however, he's an idiot and I haven't checked otherwise since I am not in the market bit it isn't a great year for those of us who want to run active via a headunit.

    The Towncar (with updates)

Actually I don't think it has anything to do with this project Chris, but I can't say that this is helping matters any.

Nice particle board. Kills me the local Focal and Audison dealer has boxes made of particle board out front. I ripped the owner a new arse when he wouldn't sell me carpet for less than $20 a yard. Needless to say I don't think I am welcome back there so much.

    Welcome to the IHoP

I know guys never do anything wrong ... but what the hell did you do? my ex and her friend went to vegas for the weekend, while they were gone, i moved all of my stuff out, and i told her that it was over when she got back sunday night i now realized this is uber insensitive, but i thought it'd be the fastest, cleanest, most drama-free way to do it at the time My buddy did that to his girl once, but instead of him moving out he just moved all of her chit into the front lawn.
